Despite room rates >$2,000/night, the service level at this hotel is reminiscent of "deep Covid." Some examples: - I emailed the concierge with a detailed request for help with a spa appointment, and a day later the response came back to call the spa or book online, but without even a link (It's not easy to find). - The rooms have empty refrigerators. Not just no alcoholic beverages, but no beverages period. - The overnight menu is embarrassing. There are 4 items and we tried two, a chicken caesar salad and BLT. Delivery took forever despite the two items having been entirely in the fridge (eg cold, stale bread). They were delivered in compostable dishes, and the salad was dated in magic marker two days before its delivery to us. We ordered sparkling water, but they forgot to deliver it. We called back and the sparkling water showed up much later, but warm, clearly never refrigerated. - There is no room service menu. Buried deep in the TV menu is a QR code to load into your phone to get the menu. etc

Dear U5637PGedwardf, Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding your stay. We are disappointed that we did not meet your expectations. It is saddening to know you felt we did not merit the cost of your stay and that we let you down. We sincerely apologize for the difficulties you experienced during your stay; this does not reflect our passion to deliver exceptional services. We have addressed this with the appropriate individuals, and we are grateful for your patience. Additionally, we regret reading your specific concern about the food you ordered. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention as we have had no similar comments and are diligent with the quality of all food & beverage products. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Rooms were tired and they stuck us in a room where they were doing work in the hallway. The staff was beyond incompetent and actively dissuaded us from spending money on incidentals. The valet system is atrocious- waiting 45 minutes for your car is inexcusable at this high end of a resort. Furthermore they neglect to tell you that at certain times of day you bring your car to the bottom of the mountain valet stand, and after hours you have to drive 30 min around the mountain to get to the main hotel gate. The cherry on top was checking out a day early due to such a poor stay, and the front desk agent not even asking “how was your stay…?” We are platinum elite bonvoy members and expect much better service from a St Regis. Word of the wise: don’t waste your time with the St Regis DV. Go to the Ritz Carlton in Beaver Creek. It’s much better. The SRDV is an embarrassment to Marriott and to the St Regis Brand

Not what I expected of a St Regis. Clearly they are going for masses and not quality. Torn wallpaper, ripped carpet (clearly not deep cleaned in years), dishes left everywhere and not picked up. You cannot find a place to sit and have a drink as everything is packed or closed for private party. Great ski in, ski out location and the ski valet, other ski services are great, but this is at best a 3 star, average budget Marriott from a hotel standpoint (except way more expensive)

- Room is nice, I used Marriott points for a 3 day stay, the USD room rate was $2500/night. - I understand that many hotels are removing room mini bars to save money but expect a $2500/night room to have a mini bar. - Arriving in the room (standard king bed room, slope side view), it looked as if it was haphazardly serviced, e.g. missing toiletries, no garbage can, door is missing the door chain lock (the base is there, no chain to lock it from unexpected service). There was an additional lock on the door knob -- didn't work. - Overall, amenities are nice but you get a feeling no one cares. The St Regis bar (next to Brasserie 7452) is almost always full. There's a bar like area in the Rime restaurant next door which is empty but you won't be able to sit there. The service is erratic, had a nice dinner at Brasserie 7452 and the bar next door was clearing up and I decided to get a last drink. There's a connecting open door between the two areas but I was made to walk around to another entrance around the side. The next day, I was told to walk around to the connecting door. - There are many service people greeting guests but mainly talking to each other or on their phones. The best (the worst) is when several of the staff are milling around the computer terminals trying to enter in orders or figure something out while many guests are trying to get someone's attention.. Most staff have a language barrier, it works but it is often difficult to understand them.

Gorgeous, lovely property. Kind staff & great stay! Stayed here for 1 night to bridge a gap between trips. I’d been here a number of times to dine or apres - so knew it was a great property. Upon arrival, received an upgrade to a lovely suite w/ a couple of fireplaces. Restaurants are tasty, views are beautiful. Definitely worth a stay!

My wife and I just stayed at the St. Regis Deer Valley for the second time and it was fantastic! We have stayed over 1,500 nights at Marriott's mostly at the luxury resort properties and this property is incredible. The resort itself is gorgeous with it's rustic mountain ambiance. The rooms are beautiful with all the amenities. The entire team from top to bottom provided tremendous service. The GM, Mr. Mugford is one of the best GM's of any Marriott property. Personable, responsive, and proactive. The head butler Ms. Perelti is fantastic. She and her team including Camila and Sophia went out of their way to ensure we had a memorable stay with so many thoughtful and creative touches. All the restaurants were incredible including Rime, La Stellina, and Brasserie. Both the food and the staff were top notch including the manager Chelsea at La Stellina. The housekeeping team did a great job everyday, the valets were very helpful, the shuttle drivers were great, the front desk, the concierge and the team and the cafe were all wonderful. It is not easy for a large hotel to hit on all cylinders with all the different departments but the St. Regis Deer Valley team is truly fantastic in every way. You will be disappointed if you decide to stay anywhere else but this unique property if you visit the area.

We just finished up a wonderful weekend of skiing but left the hotel feeling let down by our experience at this elite property. When we arrived around 1 pm on Friday our room wasn't ready so we inquired as to where we could change so we could get out on the slopes for the remainder of the day. Between the front desk and the bellhops we were given the options of 1. pull everything out on the floor in the lobby and change in the bathroom 2. the luggage closet in the valet area and finally, 3. the bathroom in the gym. Really? I can't imagine we are the first guests to arrive before check in who want to take advantage of skiing as much as possible. After a circuitous route through the hotel, the bellhop unloaded us in the gym where we dug out our skis and ski clothes, changed in the bathroom and then hauled all of our gear back downstairs to leave it with the valets. They need to have better options as this is predominantly a ski resort. Meals at Rime were also disappointing from a service standpoint. There seemed to be a plethora of waiters standing around but ours never checked in with us, was slow to respond to queries and did not attempt to compensate for food that was definitely not prepared correctly. (Hamburger was too salty to eat and the "truffle" fries were not at all seasoned and way overcooked.) I will say that the in-room dining was top-notch which was a pleasant surprise after the Rime lunch debacle. The final straw of the weekend was when the ski valet staff gave my husband's very expensive personal skis to another guest to use on our last day. My husband had skied first thing in the morning and then came back to the room to do a quick conference call. He left his skis and poles in the "Be Back Soon" rack outside the valet area. When he and I went down to ski again, he couldn't locate his skis where he had left them. About to inquire about his skis, another guest happened to ski in and was skiing on my husband's skis! Despite the stickers on the skis and poles that had my husband's name on them, both the guest and the staff failed to notice. I'm not sure what would have happened if the other guest had not returned midday to the hotel as we were flying out later that day. When we mentioned it to the staff both in the ski valet area and at the front desk, their response was very nonchalant and disappointing. Overall, service is the most important aspect of a hotel stay in my estimation. Many wrongs can be ameliorated by caring, attentive staff. Unfortunately, those moments were few and far between this weekend. I understand that many of the staff members are seasonal workers but that should not impact the service level if training is done well. We were in Sun Valley over the holidays and the service was exceptional by both permanent and seasonal staff so we know it can be done.

Dear 378kristing, Thank you for taking the time to post a detailed review. First impressions are essential; therefore, we regret that the start of your visit was not the enhanced experience we focus on providing each of our guests and the frustration you endured upon arrival. Furthermore, we are sorry for not meeting your expectations with the service and food served at one of our restaurants. We will discuss your comments with the appropriate individuals and take measures to ensure they provide perfectly prepared meals and attentive hospitality to our patrons. We also apologize for our ski valet staff's oversight in giving your husband's skis to another guest and for the less-than-authentic response you received from our front desk and ski valet team when you brought this matter to their attention. We will take the proper action with them to make sure they deliver impeccable hospitality to our guests. We are grateful for your patience and all of your feedback. We hope you and your husband will give us another chance to provide you both with a flawless and meaningful stay. Jeff Keller, Director of Rooms 385.377.8232

Continued review from terrible 2 days ago: After saving for a long time to stay at the St. Regis Deer Valley hotel again, I was booked at the "lower residences" which I did not know existed, having unique amenities different from the hotel & NOT explained at check in. Management heard me and went out of their way to make this the experience what I thought I'd booked in the first place and deserve praise. Caution to readers, make sure you understand what you are booking at this place to avoid the disappointment I experienced. Communication can be difficult so triple check.

We stayed at the St Regis for a long weekend, and we left disappointed. The bad: 1. The smell / odor on the4th floor and in our room was unbearable. There was a strong Sulphur smell that would not go away. 2. There needs to be a hotel guest bar and or restaurant during peak weekends. I had to wait 15 minutes just to get into the 21+ only bar and then wait another 15 minutes for a drink. After a long day skiing, we simply wanted a place to sit and enjoy a cocktail. The < 21 restaurant and outdoor area had an hour wait and takes no reservation. We do not mind crowds, but it was overbearing all 3 nights. The hotel is secluded (which should be a good thing), but they need more options for hotel guests, since it is a 10 minute ride to another restaurant. The Good: 1. It's a Bonvoy property = points redemption 2. ski-in and out and the valet service was first class 3. location and views of the mountain 4. Tremendous fitness center and pools / hot tubs.
