I really wanted to love this property. We recently visited with our children and stayed in a 3 bedroom residence. The room was beautiful and really perfect for our family. It was all beautifully appointed and cozy with a large fireplace in the living room and master bedroom (that didn't always work). The hotel itself is also really well done with a lot of character and detail. The interiors were a highlight. The other plus is the location which is on the mountain. You can literally walk out back to the slopes and the ski butlers will have all of your equipment ready (if organized in advance). The not so great part of this hotel is the service. It starts with the lack of presence at the front door when you come in, all the way to housekeeping which may or may not provide turn down service or come by while you are out all day. There are definite communication issues going on with the housekeeping staff. The concierge was somewhat helpful but it required a lot of effort to arrange things. The restaurant in the hotel is very charming though if you are looking for an easy, cozy dinner. All in all this property has all the potential to be the absolute star in deer valley but it fell short. I think management is working to correct a lot of these small yet big issues there and I am hopeful they can turn this into a truly spectacular property.…
The Goldener Hirsch Resort now offers the Best overall experience in the Silver Lake location. From proximity to the Deer Vally slopes to amazing dining to spacious rooms that mix the best of the new and the old. The new Cafe offered a special European treat every morning. The rustic Inn Dinning offered the best "cheese fondue" and "Wiener Schnitzel" found anywhere ! The GH team from Reception to Dining to Room staff were all incredibly attentive and super efficient. The roof top pool and hot tub were beyond expectations with great views of the mountain and Silver Lake village. Almost forgot, Mother Nature dropped 19" of fresh powder during the stay that made skiing DV the Best part of all !!
We have stayed at Goldner Hirsch 3 times(1 Week each visit) the last two years. When we left last March I made a reservation for 2023 to match the reservation date we had in 2022 with exact dates and rooms- 2 bedroom residence and a Jr suite in the old hotel...I received a call yesterday and I was informed we didn't have a reservation for 2023. The hotel could accommodate 5 of us but not 7. I left a message for Ekrem the current GM (the 3rd GM in 3 years I suspect part of the problem) yesterday and asked for a call back. I sent a text to a member of the current staff today and mentioned I would have to find somewhere else to stay if I don't get this resolved...still no call. Year 1- Goldner Hirsch was Goldner Hirsch! Newly opened some kinks to work out but the staff was wonderful, dedicated, 1st Class and the car service was handled internally with new Escalades. Year 2- Stayed in same residence (which isn't inexpensive) and had nothing but problems...major leak in the room, heat didn't function properly, TV down, problem with garbage disposal and shuttle vans vs private transportation and not on time. Rajiv was the GM at the time and I spoke with him during our stay (a very nice guy) he assured me this year they would take care of us. Haha they don't have our reservation correct and the person who can do something about it won't call me back. Since Auberge took over... this hotel has changed and does not deserve to have the namesake from Salzberg associated with it. Great location, good bones, terrible management team. Very disappointed...…
My husband and I stayed at the Goldener Hirsch over the holidays. It is a wonderful hotel with terrific staff. We had a very nice room in the original building and took advantage of the hot tub on the rooftop of the new section of the building - wonderful! We ate at both the restaurant and the bar - and would recommend both. We would highly recommend it for anyone that is looking for a ski in/ski out location in Deer Valley.
An absolute 10/10. An amazing hotel both on the inn side and the more modern new side. The room, lounge areas, food (especially the coffee shop and main restaurant), etc all amazing. However, it is the team @ the hotel from reception to ski valet (and everything in between) really make this place worthwhile. I’ve stayed at every single hotel with ski in/out access in Deer Valley and most vacation rental buildings but it’s this hotel that I’m looking to re-visit ASAP!
I absolutely loved my stay at the Goldener Hirsch! The room was stunning and the bed one of the most divinely comfortable beds I've ever slept in. The design of the hotel is beautiful and the staff made me feel special. I loved the ski valet service and that the hotel was just a 2 min walk to the ski lift. I will DEFINITELY be returning!
Beautiful small luxury hotes, very cozy, modern style, new, extremely clean, 5 stars accommodations and staff very customer service oriented. You get treated like family, not like a number. Quiet and serene.
Such a beautiful hotel, very well-maintained, excellent staff, the in-room dining was pricey but extremely good. We traveled with our infant daughter and the staff was very accommodating, both a crib and a high chair were brought up to our room. They even gave her a stuffed moose and picture book upon check-in.
I stayed here with my husband the night of our wedding and everyone was so kind! The room was drop dead gorgeous, room service was delicious. The interior design of the room is beautiful and felt very luxurious. We will 100% be staying here again!
The nicest hotel residence we hav ever stayed in. THE ROOMS WERE MAGNIFICENT. The only ting nicer than the room was the service. Everyone we encountered from the front desk to the valet and shuttle drivers. We've never experience service like this anywhere.
