We visited Green River Bridge House for a birthday celebration and a chance to experience the fall foliage. We have stayed at many B & B's and this was at the top of our list. The owner, Joan Seymour, was a gracious and wonderful hostess, making us feel at home. Joan's painstaking restoration of this historic home is truly remarkable... More

We had a great time here. Green River Bridge House is such a beautiful home and Joan, the owner, made us feel so welcome. Staying at B&B is part of the vacation experience and this home has such an interesting history. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for an impeccably clean, quiet home in a serene setting. I needed a relaxing, quiet weekend away. The Green River Bridge House could not have been more perfect! Joan was so accommodating and kind from start to finish. She meets guests at the front door, and the check-in is informal and immediate. Joan explained that she'd checked my room ahead of time, and discovered that the AC wasn't working. She... More

We've stayed here before, and absolutely love it. We love the quiet cozy location, right beside a river (in which you can swim), and beside a beautiful covered bridge. We also love seeing and spending time with the innkeeper, Joan, who is as warm and friendly as they come! She makes a fantastic breakfast, and makes you feel so warm... More

I stayed here with my sisters and niece during a family wedding. We travelled from the UK. It was absolutely heaven. It was sparkly clean, with beautiful rooms and gardens. Joan was so kind and attentive and really looked after us. She made the most amazing breakfast from scratch, it was so delicious. I cannot fault this B&B or Joan.

This beautiful house is located on the banks of the Green River and the owner made us feel so welcome that we were reluctant to leave after our very relaxing 3 night stay. Wonderful breakfast and lovely cups of tea/coffee early in the morning sitting on the covered porch watching the wildlife in the gardens. All the rooms are well... More

I had the pleasure of staying at the Green River Bridge House during September and October of 2015 while doing some work in Brattleboro. Beautiful house and location. Immaculately clean. Joan is a gracious host and became a friend for life after my lengthy stay there. The rooms are comfortable with private baths. Breakfast is delicious - Joan is a... More

My visit at this most picturesque B&B was just perfect. From the time my friend and I approached the Inn, to walking inside, I was struck by how inviting the whole place was. Each room, full of charm, perfectly decorated, clean and sun-lit windows made my heart flutter. The inn keeper, Joan Seymour is a sweetheart, professional and is well... More

My wife and I stayed here for our mini-moon, and it was perfect. Idyllic Vermont spot wedged between beautiful woods and a river with a covered bridge. Close enough to some cute towns to be accessible, but far enough off of any main roads to feel remote. The room was cozy and spacious, with a jacuzzi (ask for the sunrise... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Set in the picturesque village of Green River on a winding country road, the Green River Bridge House is nestled against the meandering Green River a few steps away from the historic Green River Covered Bridge. Across the road, perched on a small hill, is the former Methodist Episcopal Church, a classic white, steepled structure.Next to the covered bridge, water thunders over a rare, restored circa 1790 timber crib dam.The house, built in 1830, once housed the Green River Post Office. In earlier days the barn was the site of the local blacksmith shop. Lovingly and skillfully transformed, the Green River Bridge House is luxurious in comfort and sensuous in visual appeal. Every room is a warm embrace of soft colors, fine antiques and other unique furnishings.Though small enough to be homey, it is large enough and appropriately equipped to be the perfect setting for an intimate wedding or anniversary celebration. ... more   less
