First of all, you need to adjust your expectations...this is a rural area (although their are surprisingly good restaurants not far away in Bradford), it is outdoor activity focussed, and you're at an updated historic property. That said, the rooms are large and very comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bathrooms are modern. There are lots of useful public spaces. The...

Thank you for your review. Your description of an updated historic property is spot on as are your observations of our summer amenities. This winter offered perfect conditions for our ice related activities as our ice loop was heavily used mid-January to the end of February. The early signs of spring have arrived- my maple taps are ready, the car...

Went up to resort on the weekend of the youth hockey jamboree. Before going, I read the trip advisor reviews, good and bad. So I had the preconceived notions of things to be aware of. First, the staff was rude complaint. I see this as completely unfounded. The staff was wonderful and helpful. They went over the top to be...

This was our first experience with the youth pond hockey tournament, and really did not know what to expect. It is not often we have 250 8-10 year old kids all together for a weekend. To witness such a festive atmosphere and to see everybody outside moving around enjoying winter was truly wonderful. We are all excited about holding many...

This was our second visit to the Lake Morey Resort. Both times we stayed in the Avery Suite. The Suite is great on every level. Cozy bed, great view, outstanding jacuzzi tub (although last time we stayed there was a battery operated lantern and that was nice, This time there was not) Great double head shower! We just love staying...

Just perfect for a winter week-end get away in Vermont! It's an old inn and as such we expected it to be a bit quirky, but in reality aside from twisty hallways and a slight slant to the floors in spots we found it rather delightful. Our corner room was clean and comfortable with plenty of light. Despite being close...

I am pleased you enjoyed your stay in our winter wonderland. It has been quite cold, but hey, its winter after all! The ice trail has been in great shape this year due to these cold temperatures with people aplenty taking part in its offerings. Summer is not too shabby either, so please bring your kayak, or use ours and...

Beautiful location. The hotel is quirky and comfortable, and the availability of x-country skiing, skate, and sledding equipment is really wonderful. But the staff is awful. The most unwelcoming wait staff, bar staff, and front desk. At every turn, it felt like we were just nuisances, not guests - and we're fairly low key. I can't certainly spend my money...

Uggghhhh. Trust me, the unwelcome feeling is not my intention and I will personally show your review to these applicable departments. My sincerest apologies, Mark

Seriously dated. What a beautiful location and beautiful hotel but it really needs to have some repairs done. my bed was very comfortable and that he could not be regulated very well. There were many cracks in the ceiling. It would not take much to make this place live up to it's reputation.

Thanks for your input. This is an older hotel and will always have a feel of nostalgia; a sense of going back to the days of your youth. We will never be confused to that of a newly constructed chain, nor do we have any intention of modeling ourselves through this concept. Each off-season we consistently renovate with a larger...

We stayed one night while on a fall group trip to New England. Our room did not face the lake and was kind of outdated but overall we were happy with our stay. The food we were served was very good. The wait staff was a little inattentive as far as refilling water, tea, etc. and during our dining time,...

So glad you enjoyed your time at Lake Morey while on your foliage tour of New England. I particularly hope you enjoyed our small, yet scenic state. I have not had a chance to visit Iowa, other than passing through on the way to Colorado. I would imagine I-80 is not reflective of the true character of the Hawkeye State;...

I got married at Lake Morey this past December. Our wedding coordinator, Melissa Seaver, was phenomenal. She was there every step of the way - she was wonderful to plan with and kept us all on time and things running smoothly through the ceremony and the reception. The Terrace rooms provided enough room for me and the bridesmaids to get...

So pleased you had such a memorable wedding. I will be sure to have Melissa read your review; she spoke very fondly of you two during the planning stages our Management team conducts for each event. Sorry about the pool, the hard water in our area can, at times, can cause a reaction with the chlorine. Thank you, Mark Avery

My wife and I attended a wedding. When we arrived we had lunch and while the food was great, the service was not. The waitress did not fill up our waters and when asked what was for dinner, she replied, "it's usually the same as what's for dinner." The room accommodations were not up to date. There were very few...

During the off-season we vary our menu to what we believe will best fit the guests needs. We do change our menu selections between lunch and dinner, being a pub style offering in the case of this past weekend to which the waitress was referring. The town of Fairlee is challenged by its TV capability as we still do not...

Recently stayed at Lake Morey for a weekend trip to New England in the fall and was disappointed to say the least. I will start with the fab parts of the resort: The location of the resort is quiet beautiful and the lake it stunning. Thank you for your comments. They really are invaluable in terms of feedback and to where capital is invested each year during our slower season. But please don't get me wrong, I'd much rather go to the dentist and have teeth pulled without novocaine than receive a rating of 'one'. However some of your comments are being addressed this upcoming...
