When I booked Middlebury Inn, all I had seen was the old Inn, the historic looking building. Our room was actually behind this building and in the motel looking building. Still, the room was very nice, spacious, and comfy. There was coffee and teas offered in the morning in the lobby, and you can get a small discount on the...

I'm pleased that you found our Annex rooms to your liking - they are comfortable and certainly convenient. And you are correct - our $12.95 Breakfast is $11.50 if you arrange for it at check in. Thank you for pointing this out and we hope to see you again now that you know what we offer. Geoff Conrad General Manager

The good: The staff was wonderful and the restaurant was excellent. The room was clean and quiet. The inn had a lot of charm. The not great: The room was in the Courtyard Annex, which seems to be a misnomer. It felt more like a motel room on the other side of the parking lot. It seemed old and run...

I'm sorry you couldn't stay in our Main Inn but also pleased that you found a clean and quiet room nonetheless. And happy that you enjoyed our restaurant. I hope you will return and stay in a room more to your liking. Thanks for taking the time to respond to TripAdvisor. Geoff Conrad General Manager

We decided to spend four nights in Middlebury, and use the inn as our home base as we explored Vermont and the Green Mountains. The hotel is average - nothing special, but the staff was great. When making the reservation, I noted that it had an elevator, which is very important due to my husband's health conditions. What the website...

Stay tuned for information about an upcoming face lift. The Inn is old and there are some aspects that are tired which we will be addressing this coming year. I'm glad you didn't think our staff was 'old and tired', but rather made the difference between a positive and negative stay. We do agree that our location is uniquely suited...

My friend has had her heart set on staying at this renouned inn, so we spent 3 nights here. It was lovely, but I feel it trades on its history, rather than being a good value for the price. The Inn is on the Main Street and the trucks rumble by regularly and there is no elevator for the guests--just...

Sometimes our Afternoon Tea makes up for other small annoyances, such as the traffic outside the Inn. There is no denying that we are on busy Route 7 in the center of Middlebury, but our location is an important part of our attraction to many of our visitors. Although our elevator must be operated by an employee, it is available...

My wife and i celebrated our wedding at their backyard, all was very good organized, the meals and beverages were very good and the staff serving us was very kind. The Inn it is a really cozy place and well decorated. We had a small wedding (around 20 guests) and all of them were quite satisfied with the Inn service...

We enjoyed having you on this special day - I'll be sure to let Michaela and Mimi know of your nice comments. They both do a great job and no one is better at serving the customer than they are. As I recall you had a beautiful fall day and even thought the leaves were't changing yet, fall was in...

stayed here several times, and always our go-to hotel here. Haven't tried the hotel part (looks less than great) but the rooms in the inn, or in the adjacent "mansion" are wonderful Old style rooms, but comfy, clean and with nice modern touches like fast wi-fi

I guess you meant you hadn't tried our Motel section, which we call the Annex. Not to everyone's tastes, but we have a loyal clientele who always stay in these rooms as well. I'm happy to hear that the WiFi was satisfactory. Thank you for your nice comments. Geoff Conrad General Manager

I just dropped off my freshman college student at Middlebury and chose to spend two nights in the Middlebury Inn. I understand it''s an older inn in a small town but there are things that I found challenging. The front desk staff was polite but overworked and stressed. They put in long hours. However, it seemed like a huge inconvenience...

I'm sorry your perception was that our staff was stressed and unhelpful. Yes, it's been a busy season, but that shouldn't manifest itself in our lack of customer service. I apologize. Yes, our deluxe and luxury rooms are generally more spacious, but certainly should not be depressing. I'd love for you to return under more hospitable circumstances. Thank you for...

We stayed at the Middlebury Inn for three nights in August. The deluxe room was comfortable and clean. The wireless was not reliable so don't plan on keeping up with emails etc while staying there. Clearly we could have been more helpful and tried to figure out what you were trying to accomplish and the overthought explanation wasn't necessary. We seemed to have tried to ruin the 'good vibe' but thankfully weren't successful. You gave us some good teaching points for our next customer service meeting. Thank you for your thoughtful comments. We only stayed at the Middlebury Inn one night which is a shame, I would have enjoyed a second night. We checked in late in the afternoon and afternoon tea was available on a table in the lobby. We have had a beautiful fall and dinner (or dessert) on our Veranda was special. Now it's getting chilly and and the chairs and tables have been put away, but cocktails or dessert in front of our fireplace is just the ticket. Thank you for your nice comments and next time, please stay longer. Geoff Conrad General Manager
