Found this location via expedia when looking for last minute properties to stay in this general vicinity. It's off on its own but I love non traditional hotels so this fit the bill. You go into the restaurant to check in. The person that helped me was very personable and friendly. My room ended up being in the carriage house....

Where to begin...let's start with the Inn itself. It's freezing, there's a nice woodburning stove in the lobby, but no fire in it. There's no one to check us in, the bartender has to call the owner and ask how to do it. The room is...well, pretty bad. Bathroom is straight from a trailer with the tiniest shower imaginable. It...

Walked in to an empty cold building that looked like a bar/restaurant with CLOSED written on the chalk board above the bar. We walked around looking for someone and could not find the innkeeper. I noticed a key and a sheet of paper on a table. It was a note welcoming us and the key to our room. Upstairs we...

My wife and I ski race in New England, mostly Vermont, all winter long and always travel with our 100lb dog. We arrived at 9:30 pm and found that the access to our 2nd fl room was a icy steep open back tread exterior stairway. Every dogs nightmare. I had to leave early in the morning to register for our...

We stayed here for one night after skiing at Okemo. We checked in after a day of skiing and the person at the front desk was really friendly. He brought us outside and down some steps that were covered in ice to another building where our room was. The heat hadn't been turned on so the room was absolutely freezing,...

This review is a little late- my group including my boyfriend, his sister and another 4 friends was over this past New Years. Most of us had never been to the area and did not realize that we needed to book a rental home many months in advance. We started looking in November and were discouraged when we could not...

We stayed at the Salt Ash Inn for a spontaneous weekend trip to ski Killington. Our room was small but nice and cozy. We read reviews about it being cold so we packed an electric blanket and we were fine. The room was actually not very cold, but you do want extra warmth after a day of skiing. If you...

I stayed here with a group of friends over New Years on our ski trip. It is the perfect place for anyone who wants an experience worth remembering. If you want bland and predictable you should stick to Holiday Inn Express. Al and his staff provide a friendly, laid back atmosphere that really allows you to forget the outside world...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Salt Ash Inn is conveniently located near Killington and Okemo Ski Areas in Calvin Coolidge's hometown of Plymouth, in Vermont. We are just up the road from the Long Trial Brewery, and a short drive to Woodstock. The Inn is a very casual, home-style Vermont Country Inn, think about it as a home full of friends you haven’t met yet. The main building is rich in history and much of our furnishings are antique and rustic. The main building has been an 1830s stagecoach stop, a general store and even a post office. The Inn has undergone many updates over the years and recently underwent a major renovation after damages caused by Hurricane Irene. It now offers 13 uniquely decorated guest rooms (all with private baths, individually controlled heat, TV's and telephones with free domestic calls). We offer warm common areas for lounging or reading, a cozy rustic Country style bar with pool table, gas fireplace, and some of the most unique furnishings you will find anywhere. ... more   less

“All the rooms are pretty nice, but some are a bit bigger/fancier than others. It really depends on if you are going with friends, your significant other, or family. I had no noise complaints or trouble sleeping in the "Moore" room and found my other friends' rooms equally cozy. Just decide based on the number of people and the number of beds.”
