My wife and I had a wonderful stay here recently while visiting Middlebury College nearby. It's a scenic 15 minute ride up a mountain road from Middlebury and well worth it, and not just because the inn is a bit cheaper than comparable places in town. Chris Bullock and his mother are welcoming and gracious hosts. The inn is cozy,...

We were intending to stay closer to the Middlebury campus but there were no rooms left ... that's how we ended up at Chipman Inn. A few extra miles was totally worth the experience to be able to stay in such a classic and classy establishment! The Inn is delightful, from the stone fireplace to the Robert Frost snowshoes to...

The Chipman is a lovely, very carefully appointed country inn. The decor is well-coordinated simple antique, the staff is warm and generous, and the country-style home-made breakfasts are --skillfully home-made, sumptuous and exceptional. The beds are thoroughly comfortable, the bedrooms have that special country inn feeling, and the whole place is clean as a whistle. The location is quite pretty...

My GF and I stayed here over the weekend for an event in Middlebury. To be honest we were late in deciding to make the trip north so our hotel selection was limited. We stumbled across The Chipman Inn and were a little uncertain of what we booked, but we needed a place to stay. We are both in our...

My friend and I were thru hiking the Long Trail and we hadn't planned to stay off the trail at all during our 19 day trip. However, after several wet, rainy days we were craving a good night's sleep and some hearty, home cooked meals. We got ALL of that and more at the Chipman Inn! We called in the...

Really enjoyed my three days at the Inn. Chris and his mom are warm and friendly, and treat you like family. Breakfast was wonderful every day and the room was comfortable and clean. Highly recommend The Chipman Inn when you're in the area. It's a lovely part of the country too.

My wife and I were on the Inn to Inn hiking tour recently. Chris and Joan , the Innkeepers for the Chipman Inn, were truly exceptional. I could have listened to Joan's stories all night. Chris with his very warm approach makes you feel very welcome and special. We were only there one night but truly enjoyed it. The dinner...

After a rainy hike we were welcomed to a wonderful accommodations. The hospitality was great. The innkeepers are very personable and have many great stories. Our dinner meal which was included with our Inn to Inn Hiking Tour was exceptional. We enjoyed our meals which included the Innkeeper's own Maple Syrup.

This is a historic building in a tiny hamlet. But staying here is all about the owners; they are ominpresent, chatty, and full of stories to tell! Joan is, as she'll tell you regularly during the conversation, 80 years old and in absolutely no mood to slow down, while Chris, her son, is a cheerful refugee from corporate life. The...
