We stayed as a group in the Black Bear lodge. It is a total dump dirty smelly rooms. They need to be updated in the worst way. There is no coffee pot or refrigerator. The beds were comfortable and the showers had hot water on the plus side. This is a ski resort and I am sure in the winter it is ok but as another person commented nothing is open across the street. If it is open it is limited hours, close at 8p.m. or 4 p.m. Summer is not the time to go. I was told the pool would be open to us and we would have access. Not true the Black Bear lodge has no pool. Only the private condos. The hotel restaurants are not open and neither is the bar. They have a Continental breakfast in the a.m. Vermont is a beautiful state. We left a day early. Of course no money back nor did I care. I was just happy to get out of there.

Always a great time at Stratton! Super convienient on mountain lodging. Park the car in the heated underground lot and walk to the village and slopes every day. The mountain is always impeccable and the staff are all very friendly, knowledgable and friendly.

My family recently stayed at Stratton Mountain Resort over Memorial Day weekend. The Stratton website repeatedly referred to Memorial Day as the start of their summer season. What it doesn’t say is that everything is shut down. We arrived at Stratton village only to find 90% of the shops and restaurants closed. We then called the front desk who assured us that the village would be open the next day but things close around 4:00pm. We went the next day and...nope. Most of the restaurants remained closed. Through many calls I was able to learn that things were not in fact open that time of year. The staff should have known that and the website should have been clear on that fact. The staff also told us we would be able to use the fitness center, but upon arriving we found out that that was members only. An all around disappointing stay, We hadn’t chosen Stratton for our love of dated ski condos. We’d gone for the amenities and feel that the website was pretty misleading about what would be open. It makes some sense that things might shut down for a few weeks in the spring and if the website or staff had been clear on that fact we would have chosen another location where we didn’t have to drive a half hour to find dinner.

So I havent been to Stratton in over 25 years - I remember being fascinated by the village feel at the base, and how large the mountain seemed back then. Well the village feel is still there and still magical - and the mountain maybe isn't as large, but it sure is fun. Although COVID restrictions are in place, and the staff obviously is working super hard to ensure everyone's safety, at times it felt a little too tight and people were a little too close. This is more the fault of the customers rather than the staff. Snowmaking was in full force - they are trying to get coverage as quickly as possible and the mountain was in good shape. Great trails and great lifts. Sun bowl was the only notable exception - not too much going on over there. Had a great time - I'll be back next year.

Skied Stratton Presidents' Day 2020 (Feb 17, 2020): there were outstanding snow conditions and I never had to wait in a lift line more than about 5 minutes. The skiing was excellent, the weather stunning and it ended up being an extremely fun day.
