First of all, Lareau is not a fancy place. It is a nineteenth century farmhouse that was converted into a B&B so if you are looking for a cozy fireplace in your bedroom, snuggled between down comforters, you will be disappointed. The prices are reasonable and a full country breakfast is included, with some p.m. snacks if you wish. Dave,...

We come up to Vermont to ski at Mad River Glen every winter, and have stayed at Lareau Farm Inn several times. Accommodations and common areas are not high-end, but are comfortable. Cooked breakfasts feature an eclectic variation on eggs, pancakes or French toast, but if you'd prefer your eggs plain rather than with, say, fried potatoes and turkey mole,...

Love this place - it has a wonderful warm, comfort of home feeling. Don't expect rooms to be perfect and "high end" - they have lots of character and its a great place to stay. Our room had a really comfortable bed and recently renovated bathroom. Have been there twice - fall and winter. And we got to feed the...

The Inn is a glorious step back in time with all the comforts and ammenities anyone would need. A delicous dining resteraunt is on sight and the home made assortment for breakfast is delicous. Our room was very comfortable and clean and the open living spaces down stairs made me want to stay all day curled up with a good...

Wonderful stay over the holidays! This Inn is very Vermont Country and cozy (holiday decor, roaring fire and homemade treats) but the real warmth is the Inn-keeper Lisabeth! She makes this Inn feel like you are staying with a friend, which was very important for me being away from home for the holidays. She even accommodated my friends dog last...

We attended a wedding over Labor Day weekend. Our family used the whole Inn. It was enjoyable but the rooms could use some upgrading. Some had a private shower (very tiny) while others shared a shower and bath room. The sitting room was cosy. Breakfast was simple with pancakes or omelette. Individual travelers may want to check out the rooms...

Hi Wim881, Thanks for your feedback and review. We really appreciate the feedback and that you chose Lareau Farm for your family weekend. I agree with our assessment on needing some upgrading and we have just begun to embark on bathroom renovations and are reviewing other areas that need attention. Due to the noise and energy that weddings create, we...

The area itself is very pretty, next to the mountains, but for breakfast there was cottage cheese pancakes and bagels with salsa cream cheese, was not my favorite, Our bathroom door had no doorknob and the door hinge broke off before we got there...

Hello Ethan, We thank- you for the feed back. Breakfast: It's challenging for those with a more discerning palette. That is why - For the breakfast we rotate between a sweet and savory offering every other day. We also have a rather large help yourself buffet with two types of cereal - homemade granola and Cheerios [for the kiddos] A...

We hosted our daughter's wedding there August 2016. When we arrived a couple days ahead of the event, coming in from Ohio, they greeted us like family and the place soon felt like home. They were extremely helpful in every way to make the day special. The breakfasts at the Inn were wonderful and the food for the wedding was...

Yes, it's a charming old farm setting, but the guest accommodations are in dire need of an upgrade, if only to make them presentable and appealing. I stayed here with a friend. Our separate rooms shared an upstairs bathroom. During a summer heat wave, the bathroom had no air-conditioning and probably hit at least a steamy 90 degrees after each...

Hi Mercurius_1, Thanks for your feedback and our apologies for not meeting your expectations. The shared bathroom is an area we are focusing for a complete overhaul. I agree that the beds for shared hallways, which offer the lowest rates can be on the smaller side - it is something for budget travelers to be aware of. As for the...

We loved everything about this place. We traveled to Vermont to run Mad Marathon, so location was very convenient. We really appreciated the fact that we were allowed to come back after the marathon and shower, even though we already checked out! this is my #1 Inn in the Valley.
