The first clue we'd made a mistake was the empty parking lot. The other more obvious indicators was the unfriendly welcome at check-in followed by the lack of cleanliness in the room, 1960's motif, a bathroom full of mold, and bedding that stunk and needed to be thrown in the trash.

Hello Harleyman1 We have looked through our reservation records for both December 2013 and January 2014 but have been unable to find a reservation from anyone from Florida. We have therefore been unable to determine which room you are referring to. We have inspected every bathroom but have been unable to find any that have the mold problem that you...

Returned or our 2nd year ski weekend with 4 young children. Not disappointed with the personal service and patience with our family. Basic, clean rooms, no frills with couple large lounging rooms that we all enjoyed. Perfect for a family weekend,

Amenities are non-guaranteed. Falsely advertised hot tub - as it was not functional for our stay. It really ruined the experience as I booked this lodge specifically for the comfort of lounging by the hot tub after a long day of boarding. When brought to the owners attention, no courtesy or care was shown in the slightest. Disappointing to say...

This is our 4th year at Big Bears Lodge and we absolutely love it! Caroline and Steve are the most charming hosts and make you feel like you are "home". We go with a group and therefore the meals are included and the food is wonderful - large cooked-to-order breakfasts and the dinners are exceptional. The rooms are very cozy...

We booked in for a Murder Mystery week-end and had a very nice time. It is misleading that this is called a lodge - a motel with a couple of sitting rooms, one with a nice looking fireplace doesn't made a true lodge. For a motel? Not too bad. Relatively clean, large end unit on the top floor with additional...

We stayed at this lodge recently. It actually is not a lodge as you would think, it is more like a Motel 8 with the stark rooms, outdated interior, at best warm shower water, and 1950's are calling -they want their bedspreads back-type of place (and the gold blanket that you know has not been washed in YEARS-eww). Others have...

My wife and I went up to Mount Snow for the Tough Mudder. I picked Big Bear's Lodge because it was very close to the race. Both my wife and I were very impressed with the hotel and the way we were trrated. By the time we left, we felt like family. The breakfast was wonerful and made to order....

We bought a Murder Mystery Weekend deal, at Big Bears Lodge, off of Living Social. This was my first time in Vermont and participating in a MM dinner. We had a blast. The Murder Mystery Dinner.... ...takes up several hours on the second night of the weekend. You can choose how much you would like to participate (from 1-5) and...

We spent two nights there and was involved in a dinner theatre. The host were outstanding and very friendly. The entertainment was really fun and I highly recommend this place. The murder mystery night was exciting and loads of fun. Even if you're not involved in the entertainment, you may want to visit here anyway.

Stayed for 2 nights in February. Cute little motel. Very quiet, older furnishings but clean and comfortable. Didn't get a chance to sample breakfast. Great value for the money. So close to the mountain! Will certainly stay here again.
