For an old hotel the Coolidge is kept meticulously clean by a hard working staff. The innkeepers are also kind and accommodating. The place has a creative air, but only if you are willing to participate in the creativity. This hotel is not posh, but the character, the stories, and the lives unfolding on a daily basis make for a...

found the creaking and uneven floors charming. Reminded me of the old farm house growing up . Once in the room actually feels like you are staying in someones old home .Quite liked it. Wife loved the deep tub.

Thank you for this review - this is the feeling we try to result in a stay at the Coolidge. In my years since 1985 as the Innkeeper here comments like this are the most reassuring.

Old Victorian holel. Welcoming staff. Across the street from train station. Old town. Limited parking. Good local eateries. Few in number adjacent to hotel. Some local shops in immediate area. Will go back. Like the hotel's atmosphere. Quaint. Comfortable bed.

Hi there--so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us, and that you enjoyed the history to be found here. We look forward very much to having you stay with us again!

Don't stay here if you need modern digs. Do stay if you like old hotels with massive Victorian stairways, high ceilings with exposed pipes, and a sense of yesteryear. It is a 2 minute walk from a fabulous Turkish/Mediterranean restaurant and there are interesting shops in the block. If you need a contemporary room, this is a 2 rating. If...

Hi Lou--So glad that you chose the Hotel Coolidge for your recent stay in WRJ, and so glad too that you enjoyed our historic hotel! You discovered the Tuckerbox, the excellent Turkish restaurant on the corner, and had a chance to visit some of our interesting shops--a perfect way to spend an evening or a couple of days. Thanks for...

Dear Theresa, You are absolutely right. I missed an opportunity to make you feel welcome and comfortable, and truly wish that I had handled the situation differently. As an innkeeper, my primary job is to ensure the comfort of our guests, and I regret that I did a poor job for you, and gave you an inaccurate impression of the...

The name should have been a dead give away but finding out the historical significance of this place and it's untouched art community that built up around it makes it a time castle capsule combined into a museum for modern art and artists that encapsulated my guest and I down and back through history and art

The Coolidge is not a modern Starwood, Hilton or Mariott and it doesn't try to be. Instead it is a classic older hotel with real wood paneling, a majestic main staircase, comfortable, clean rooms with solid furniture and an extremely friendly and helpful staff who put Keurig coffee out as early as 4 AM. The little Boho cafe attached to...

Thank you so much for your fabulous review! I am so pleased to hear that our staff did a great job--although I would expect nothing else. They are a great group, very dedicated and hard working, each and every one of them. And this truly is a wonderful historic building, on the National Register of Historic Places, and the restaurants...

My daughter and I spent one night here and it was awful. It is half hotel and half boarding house. The room was very old and not very clean. Dried blood on the bed sheets and no response from management.

Hi Jennifer, I'm Judith Falk, the Front Desk Manager here at Hotel Coolidge. I'm so sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. I do have a couple of questions--I'm wondering when you stayed with us? I do take my responsibilities as Front Desk Manager VERY seriously, and I know that I was not contacted about the issues you describe above....

Have stayed here several times over many years and always look forward to returning to The Coolidge and White River Junction. Spent a very nice evening with friends at a good restaurant and a very interesting performance The Main Street museum. Will definitely back.

Great location. Very friendly staff. A lot of history in that building. Eat at the Tucker Box. Food is great. No coffee in room, yikes. But a credit at the attached cafe with great coffee, that helped.
