I choose this B&B due to its location near the Virginia Capital Bike Trail and It is as far as I know the closest place to stay on the trail.(right across Rt 5) . The house is a beautiful historic home and is rich in the history of the area , further augmented by the hosts collection of antiques. If... More

We booked two nights at the Edgewood Plantation due to its proximity to the “Capitol to Capitol” bike trail that connects Richmond to Williamsburg/Jamestown. The trail is right across the road. Talk about convenient. The accommodations were delightful and we all loved the historic nature of the house from its architecture to the supposed apparition. The breakfasts were wonderful and... Perfect location, midway on the Virginia Capital Trail. However, the grounds needs serious attention. The room (Dolly's) was crowded with old furniture that it is difficult to find space for our small bags. Window AC was musty smelling and did not adequately cool the room - but it was a very hot/muggy day/night. Lighting in the room was poor. Very... More

This is a beautiful B&B in a beautiful location. Old world southern charm, and very comfortable. Our hostess, Dot, is extremely friendly and charming. We loved just sitting and chatting with her. While Dot claims not to be a good cook, she provided a very fine breakfast. This is a B&B for couples, especially those who enjoy a "historical" flavor.

Wonderful location with several plantations to tour and in close proximity to historic Williamsburg. The premise includes beautiful gardens and a historic mill. Dot, the inn keeper, was a fantastic host who exemplifies southern hospitality. She recommended various sites to tour and restaurants in the area. The true prize of this site is the house itself. This home is filled... More

My husband and I stayed here this past week. We got a whole lot more than what we expected. Dot and Julian were just wonderful. The hospitality was never lacking. We felt like we were family. So much so we felt sad leaving. The food was fantastic and the conversation rich in history and laughter. If anyone asked me if... More

Ideal location for the Capital Trail. It is literally just across the street. The owners were delightful and friendly. We very much enjoyed talking with them. The breakfast was delicious - a bit on the heavy side - but very flavorful. The grounds are beautiful - many lovely plants, garden ornaments, etc. The house is overflowing with Victorian items. It... A wonderful friendly couple willing to share their love of history with us, a couple of traveling historical re- enactors. Although we were a bit overwhelmed at first with the all of treasures, we asked and were blessed to be able to eat our breakfast in the cozy, and truly historical tiny kitchen area. Julien and Dot shared their evening... More

First, I visited in the middle of April, which was the perfect time to go. Everything was in bloom, and the gardens and grounds of the Edgewood Plantation are nothing short of spectacular. The Bed and Breakfast was amazing. The owners have spent decades finding just the right furniture and lovely, interesting antiques that help one imagine what it must... More

The owner, Dot, took much pride in telling us about the history of Edgewood Plantation. There is so much history surrounding the beautiful home. The furniture and clothing are jewels and the rooms decorated comfortably for bed and breakfast guests. What a pleasant day.
