We booked this place by mistake. We thought it was a Holiday Inn Express. But our status allowed us to get a complimentary breakfast although it isnt normally included. Location was good and staff was friendly. Breakfast was ordered the night before and either picked up or you could eat in dining room.
My husband and I stayed here in November while visiting my sister-in-law and her new baby! We really only used the room to sleep and spent the rest of the day with my sister-in-law. The location next to the highway is perfect! The hotel is like any other Holiday Inn. Very average, but beds were comfortable and staff was nice. The elevators kept breaking throughout our stay. I hope they have figured that out since we stayed. Coffee in the lobby was not great, but Starbucks next door was! We will definitely consider staying here again in the future its a nice place to sleep while visiting family and next time we might bring our dogs!
This was terrible, room was not clean, lighting is so dim in every room, especially the bathroom.never had hot water for a shower unless Itook one at 5 AM, Outside noise is awful, people coming in for work at 4AM. The male employee who is at the front desk, was rude and could care less. Waste of money. This place needs to be redone.
My husband I stayed here for 1 night before heading to Shenandoah National Park. Check in was easy and the lady at check in was very pleasant, even advising me where I could buy a US hair dryer, coat hangers and plasters.. The room itself was fine and the shower was very good. The bed was comfortable, as were the pillows and all was clean enough. That is where the positives end. The bar was closed due to a private event. We decided to go out for dinner just in case the restaurant was closed too! Now to the night's sleep ( or, rather, lack of it!). The hotel was rather too close to the I-64 motorway, but unfortunately the "double glazing" was worse than useless, which meant that we could hear the noise of every vehicle, particularly freight traffic, on the I-64. Needless to say, I honestly did not get a wink of sleep. Also, be aware, even though this is a Holiday Inn, you have to order what you want for breakfast by midnight the night before! Unfortunately, we didn't do so. So, no sleep and no breakfast! We left the hotel and drove straight to Wegman's, the supermarket, to get some fruit for breakfast in our car! Very disappointed.…
I am in Charlottesville dropping my daughter off for UVA Medical School. I left my room for 4 hours today and returned to find all my toiletries, medical prescriptions, contacts lenses, makeup and other grooming items gone. My custom mouth guard. Gone. Dozens of prescriptions. Gone. The entire bathroom swept. The total loss was $1700. I alerted housekeeping. They alerted the manager. The manager didn't even bother to come to my room or call me back. She just had housekeeping tell me "nothing could be done". When I went to her office she didn't even apologize. She told me there was nothing that she could do and nothing that she would do to reimburse me for the losses and that I could call the police and file a report. So I did call the police and file a report. The police were unable to do anything because there are no cameras on the property. There is no camera in the hall or on the exterior parameter. There is a stairwell right next to my room where the person probably grabbed my things, went down the stairs and was outside in the back of the hotel in minutes. I do not know if it was housekeeping who stole my things or another person. Housekeeping keeps the doors open while they are cleaning so that would have been an easy opportunity. Many of the things that were stolen are not easily replaceable. They are going to require doctor's appointments etc. Many of the items I cannot replace at all while I am traveling. I had a lot of prescriptions, facial creams, lotions etc. because my daughter is moving here for 4 years and we stocked up just yesterday for months because she won't have a car. All of it gone. I had to fight with my health insurance company to get emergency prescriptions filled because it was too early to have them filled. I spent my entire day fighting with the manager, on the phone with the national customer service and then shopping to replace all the items that were stolen. I have asked to be comped for the two nights in which I stayed here and I have asked to be reimbursed for the items that were stolen. So far, I have not received any apologies or any indication that they are going to make this right. Holiday Inn should be responsible for the security at their hotel and guests should feel that they are safe. If someone breaks into a person's room, the hotel should reimburse with them for the loss. Especially if the loss is due to employee carelessness of leaving a door open. The worst part is that not one person has shown remorse or empathy for the situation and it is clear that I'm going to have to fight to have this made right. I shouldn't have to fight. They should take responsibility for their employees or their lack of security and do the right thing. I also had to take the day off work. So they should reimburse me for time lost there. I will never stay at a Holiday Inn again anywhere. This has been a total nightmare and is totally unacceptable customer service.…
We stayed here in April 2022 for a wedding. Overall, this was an average experience. Not particularly great and not terrible either. Pros: - There is a Starbucks right across the parking lot within easy walking distance. Wegmans is also right around the corner. - Free parking. - The service was good and the staff are kind. - The room was clean. The bedding was clean and soft. The room has a microwave, Keurig, and mini fridge. The TV has an average channel selection. Cons: - The hotel is close to the highway and the traffic noise is noticeable. - I don't think they accept Visa. The Visa I used to book the hotel was declined at the front desk. I used it immediately prior to arrival and shortly after check-in at Wegmans without issue. I had to use a Mastercard I would preferred to not have had to use that one. - They are noticeably understaffed. There is only one person who runs the bar, food service, kitchen, and probably laundry too given she was taking calls about laundry at the bar. We honestly felt really bad for her and went off site for food. - The bathroom had an interesting mismatch of Bath & Body Works shampoo and different brands of bar soap, conditioner, and lotion with no other amenities. - Housekeeping replaced the towels but didn't flatten the bed or anything like you usually expect. - The view leaves a lot to be desired and the pool area looked pretty grody.…
Bed was comfortable BUT found only 1 soap in bathroom usually have 2, one for hands and one for shower, but not here. Also used the coffee pot in room and pod was not replaced next day. Only 1 creamer and 1 sugar in packet. Seems like things were skimped. Plus key card hardly worked. Had to go to desk a few times in a row because it would not work. Finally fixed it and still had to try it 4 times.
Paid $40 extra per nite for pet room. Asked for 1st floor room a week out. Refused. Carpet in room dirty and frayed. AC revved like a jet engine when kicked on. Traffic noise from road was like an airport hotel. Shower door would not close or open completely. Access in and out of parking lot very awkward. Breakfast offered for fee, easier and less expensive at Starbucks within 30 yards. Rude male desk clerk when asked about trash cans. Never stay here again.
We got stuck on the third floor on the interstate side of the building. Immediately outside our room are air o coining compressors. And near elevator. Very loud ambient noise all night long. Traffic notice. Ac compressor in room sounds like a rocket launch. So gang noisy Who designed the shower? Can’t turn on shower without getting blasted by cold water. And I am sorry but if you can have a bartender and full bar in the evenings it is time to bring back hot breakfast. Stuck here two nights.
Checked in this afternoon and went to dinner. Returned tonight to wash up and get ready fir bed. Bathroom floor felt grimy so I ran a wet washcloth over the floor and it was black with dirt a d filth. Went downstairs to discuss with front desk staff (Sam and Kylie) who were busy eating their pizza and couldn’t give a damn. Said manager will be in tomorrow at 8 AM and will deal with it. Housekeeping gone for the night. Offered another room but couldnt say if it would be any cleaner than this filthy room but they’d give me a key if I want to go and look. Disgusted. Cali g health department tomorrow because this is not OK
