We were going to Charlottesville for a wedding and had booked a king suite after we read the reviews about this place. We had trouble right from check in. Front desk was cordial and first room we went to had no AC working and the shower hadn’t been cleaned up properly. We were moved to a second room which had a funky smell when you first walked in like disinfectant over cigarette smoke. Also there were no towels, drinks left in refrigerator, carpet red to be vacuumed, garbage left in a drawer, stained shower curtain and stained coach. Pull out be had no sheets. The manager came and cleaned the room and brought towels and apologized. The breakfast buffet was just ok. Food tasted institutional. The facilities were run down and in need of repairs and it looked like staff was lacking. Couldn’t recommend this place and better off at Homewood suites.

Called a week ahead of our reservation to request a crib. A dreadfully rude woman insisted that they do NOT provide cribs (contrary to all information provided online otherwise). We canceled and went elsewhere.

We requested a pack-n-play when made our reservation. We also called the hotel to make sure a pack-n-play would be available. When we checked in, the person at the front desk told us a pack-n-play would be delivered to our room shortly. An hour later, we called the front desk and we’re told there were no more pack-n-plays. Sorry. I’m not sure what they expected us to do, put our baby in a dresser drawer for the night? Take shifts watching our baby sleep in one of the beds? We had to find another hotel that could accommodate us. Can you imagine the stress? So if traveling with a little one, you are warned. This hotel has no system to reserve pack-n-plays or cribs for infants/toddlers. It’s first come, first served. They also seem perfectly unperturbed accepting the liability of a small child getting injured in the night because they failed to provide promised, suitable sleeping arrangements. I guess that’s just the stiff upper English lip I’m always hearing about.

This old property is very good but not great. Price is good and luxury suite is huge. Pretty clean but when you look at your bare feet they are getting black. Stepped in shower and saw how dirty my feet were. Mold and mildew. Worn furniture, hard pillows but comfortable bed. Lots of lamps and really good a/c. Hot water and quiet. Good hot breakfast buffet with lots of options including bacon and real eggs scrambled.

We stayed as we had read about the tea - which is a great idea if it were served in the lobby but is a box of tea with cookies. Room was nice with a really comfortable bed and really clean/ nice shower and amenities as well. It’s like two hotels though updated rooms but non updated common spaces. Friendly and helpful staff and convenient for food delivery. Pool was kind of cold for heated, but the breakfast was great!

It felt like I paid for an authentic all American breakfast and got a free room. I've had a lot of breakfast buffets in my life in much bigger and swankier hotels but this one right here was one of the best I have had in my life. It was simple, had the basics like bacon, biscuit and gravy and I found myself going for breakfast at 6:30AM, taking a walk and having a second breakfast then telling the guy who was cleaning up how amazing the breakfast is and we had a great conversation about how he takes great care to keep the place clean and to keep the breakfast fresh. So as you can tell, the staff is also very engaging, friendly and take their job very seriously. Please go here if you get to go to Charlottesville. One of the best American breakfasts in my life and I'll probably go back here just for the food.

What a joke. Had a paid reservation, they indicated that there was no record on their end. The English Inn staff acted like I was a criminal, intending to defraud. Contacted my travel agent, they talked to these dopes, to no avail on the English Inn side. My TA comped us a stay at the Omni. 2hours wasted for no reason, other than pure incompetence on the part of the “manager”. The desk agent was doing all he could, but the “manager” wouldn’t even look a customer in the eye. No apology, no effort, no offer of lukewarm coffee while waiting. The property is full of work trucks, and trash all over the parking lot. Glad we didn’t have to find out about the rooms. By the way, the comped room at the Omni was top-notch. Thank you, English Inn—you made the trip a real treat, due to your supreme lack of functional hospitality and decision making capacity on the part of your clown management.

The inn has spacious rooms, helpful staff and a wide spread for breakfast! The amenities were also great. They provide a shuttle service as well. A family friendly property. A short but comfortable stay

Well established and designed country inn loses a lot during its current renovation and pandemic caution. All the extra meeting spaces are not available, contractors have stored their materials and tools in everyone. The large, attached building heated pool is closed. Rooms are comfortable but not services at all for clean-up, fresh towels, sheets, etc. until guest leaves. Maintenance issues like non-working phones are corrected eventually. Lobby is pleasant with a sunken "clublike" lounge area and fireplace currently not used. Tea is served in the lobby a 4 pm until 6 serving homemade chocolate chip cookies and a variety of packaged teas to suit most tastes. Fresh oranges and apples, ice water and coffee available all day opposite check-in counter. Hot breakfast served daily in the first-floor dining room, it's the only meal served and "hot" is a relative term, warm is better. Offsite dining available within reasonable distances. Inn shuttle friendly and available for dining and "downtown" trips and airport drop-off.

Dated hotel, sort of renovating. Very old. Had a problem with billing and General Manager has their head in the sand. For a dated hotel you would think customer service would be a priority. Stay somewhere we'll anywhere else..
