Our favorite place to stay in Charlottesville. We book it for all the home football games and some of the basketball games. The breakfast is a delight and enjoy the chocolate chip cookie after the game. .

We stayed here for three nights. A few items the first night had me leaning toward a lower rating - no clean towels at the pool, cold coffee in the lobby (better to empty the container and take it away than leave cold coffee that we dispensed and then had to figure out where to get rid of it), etc....

The English Inn is not only my home away from home, but absolutely has some of the nicest humans on planet earth who work there.....friendly, competent, caring, kind, integrity, honest, and all the other superlatives which go with that........and NO, I'm not related to any of them......I just love that gang, headed up by Kathy Brown with Kathy Palmer.......THEY ARE...

I chose this hotel based on prior reviews and reasonable cost. It was a very disappointing experience. My daughter and I were in Charlottesville for a Fall Blast for prospective UVA students. We stayed the night of 10/6/16 in room number 232. Upon arrival after a long drive in pouring rain, I was greeted by a cool and unwelcoming receptionist....

After our daughter had a little meltdown after having her first baby and asked for help, we let the receptionist know we werent coming from VA beach to do the "leaves" or coming to have a good time, but instead to help our daughters call for help, could they work with us on the price of the room as we...

We stayed here on a Saturday night. We checked in but we weren't told anything about the free breakfast or the big indoor pool. We were asked if we wanted a room on the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd floor. We chose the third floor. The room was average .It's an old hotel that needs some renovations. There was a broken...

My husband has medical appointments in Charlottesville. Over the years we have stayed at various places but for the past couple have been staying at the English Inn. The staff are warm and friendly, always helpful. The rooms are clean, nicely decorated. The cookies and coffee are especially enjoyable as a treat when you check in. To top it off,...

Made this reservation last minute for a wedding I was attending. Cost was more than I wanted to pay, but was totally worth it. The front desk staff were incredibly helpful and understanding of our need for early check in. Breakfast was excellent.

Never have I given Five stars to a "normal" hotel - English Inn earned them for several reasons ! So we needed hotel rooms for a family wedding nine full months away - but the weekend of a home football game, Ouch !! Ms. Brown , sales mgr, was wonderful in guiding us through availability, likely costs then, and the...

We attended a wedding in Charlottesville, VA and the guests stayed at the English Inn. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful (Kerri and Daniel) and the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet. The morning breakfast was very good and the chef (Nathaniel) even came out to see how everyone was doing and to make sure we were all satisfied....
