This was an ideal space to work remotely while staying overnight for an evening event. The space was quiet, clean, and comfortable. All staff was attentive and helpful while clearly enjoying their jobs and each other. I will stay here again.
Excellent stay. Charming, well-maintained older homes on a residential circle have been converted into comfortable rooms and suites. We were upgraded to a queen suite at no charge and had four rooms -- living, bedroom, bath and a window-filled cozy study. Definitely a place where you could spend time. Staff are very professional and pleasant. You can have a drink in the beautiful lobby bar or breakfast at the pretty cafe in its own garden cottage. Location is ideal if you have business or sightseeing at the University of Virginia -- just walk the nearby pedestrian overpass to the campus.
Tasteful, charming, and a nice break from the soulless corporate chain hotels. Beautiful old windows and cozy nooks. My room was huge and featured a working gas fireplace. Plus amenities like a 24-hour pool and free valet parking. For me, this place is the perfect cross between a B&B and a large hotel.
Everyone who works here was accommodating, friendly, and kind. This is easily the best place to stay for walking access to UVA and the free trolley that can get you all around C'ville. Also, this hotel is easily accessible by ride share if you are in town without a car.
Lots of people running around, but very little of that translates into action. I hate complaining but this was a bad experience. Quick notes: - Room was fine but above the front door and bar, which was very noisy. - On check-in I was asked if i wanted room cleaning - said yes, but nothing happened - no biggie, they must be busy and I'm not trashing the place, I just wish they'd said no cleaning and managed expectations differently. - for breakfast, when the cafe is closed (M/T), it was saran-wrapped muffins and when the cafe was open, we waited 30 mins for hot black coffee to appear. - Leaving, I waited 30 mins to pick up my car from the parking. It's my fault for using the valet, but I'm kicking myself as it made me late for a business meeting that was the point of my whole trip. - The location isn't that convenient - it's all walkable but you feel out of the swim of downtown while being next to the main road. It looked like a lot of guests were milling around with the same experience. I wish I'd stayed at the Quirk or similar! …
An historic inn loaded with character. Lovely great room with bar and small (but nice) pool in the back. Rooms are older, but well-kept. We found service was inconsistent -- e.g., sometimes phones were answered, sometimes not. At times two staff members worked the front desk, but other times we waited for several minutes before someone appeared. Sometimes there were two car valets (valet parking required), other times there were none to be found. Yet, wait time for our car was never long as other staff members were happy to assist. Location was great...walkable to the University of Virginia, which has some extraordinary history. Short drive to almost everything else.
The Oakhurst Inn was a gem to find and enjoy. I stayed recently with my 8 & 10 year olds who loved the character of the building. I loved the modern amenities. Very close to campus & trolley stop too.
We were in Charlottesville to see a cancer doctor. We were stressed because of the reason for our visit and the service we received at Oakhurst Inn made our visit a little easier. We have already booked another room for our next appointment.
Shabby. Shabby. Shabby. We rented the Penthouse for girls weekend in CVille. Over $600/night. Dirty. Poor service. Bugs. Dust. Mold. Awful. Left after one night. Go to Keswick Hall instead a short drive out of town. Same price. Gorgeous and clean.
Hotel was older but expected, Valet parking is not my favorite but it wasn’t a problem. There was an issue during our stay completely out of anyone’s control. Jake (working overnight) was prompt and while he could not correct the problem he did everything he could to make the rest of our experience a good one.
