The stay was great, But more over When I was checking out I found my car was dead the front desk was exceptionally helpful calling mechanics , other Hotels "there was no room left there" and car rental agencies. Making several call for me. I can not say enough about how helpful they were and this was on Labor Day...

Thank you for the great review!! We were all so sorry we couldn't help you more-- it was a rotten situation and made even worse that it happened on the day you were supposed to leave! We hope you'll return to Chincoteague again sometime-- and hopefully everything will go off without a hitch.

This was our second time staying at The Refuge in as many years. They just do it right. Last year, we stayed for 4 nights, but it wasn't enough, so we came for a week this year. We enjoyed the clean, large rooms, with great air conditioning and dehumidifier, in-room hair dryer, coffee pot, and mini fridge. Housekeeping staff was...

For the price of a motel, the rooms are more reminiscent of a bed and breakfast, but without the hassle of close quarters. Everything is very clean. We've stayed here now for the last three years, and intend to stay here again.

The Refuge Inn was a great stay. We stayed one night and opted for 2 queen beds as we had a child with us. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, quiet, and well equipped. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provide continental breakfast each morning, including hot and cold cereal, toast, bagels, juice, yogurt, and coffee/tea. What I like...

The location is perfect - just a bike ride away from the beach. Lovely shaded area with picnic table, bike racks and grills. Exceptionally clean rooms and friendly staff. The free breakfast is a nice touch. Great way to start off the day.

Liked the location, room nicely appointed. Check in time is 4 pm-a little later than most hotels. Did not care for the open breezeway configuration-made for many unwelcome insects getting into my room-tiny black flies, a cricket (maddening when trying to sleep), and several mosquitos (the last I rather expected in a tidal marsh area). I would have been less...

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and thank you also for the compliments! Regarding insects, we don't usually encounter any problems with them getting into rooms. Perhaps the guest who checked-out right before you checked-in had used the sliding door extensively without making good use of the screen? Either way, we apologize for the crickets and...

The Refuge Inn exceeded my expectations in all ways. I frequently visit Ocean City , Maryland but am finding rooms expensive, roads and highways crowded and parking difficult. It no longer meets my needs. Decided to give Chincoteague a try. Selected the Refuge Inn as my home for the night. Based on my overnight stay, I have found my new...

We stayed at the Refuge in for just a weekend and it was wonderful. The rooms were comfortable, clean and beautiful. The staff was beyond helpful with restaurant recommendations, a map to help us find what we needed in town and help returning items we accidentally left in the room. The pool was clean and a great place to relax....

For the same price as most other hotels on the island, the Refuge Inn surprised us in its furnishings, accommodations, hospitality, and location. Each room is decorated differently with real headboards, dressers, and nightstands (not chain hotel products). The mini fridge was a huge help. The bathrooms were clean and updated. It reminded me more of a classy bed and...

The Refuge Inn is a breath of fresh air when it comes to lodging. Offers everything that the chain hotels offer with the addition of care and concern for their guests. Quiet, pleasant and so relaxing. They have a bike depot right on property to rent bikes and head out to the beach; an easy 3.5 mile ride. Included is...
