We spent a few days hiking in Shenandoah National Park and were looking for a different sort of place to stay for our last day. We found this one on line and were not disappointed in the least. Phil and Sandy are excellent hosts and the home is a wonderful restored mansion, circa 1869. Despite its age, all facilities are...

We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful inn. Hosts Phil and Sandra very generously shared stories with us about the house's history and restoration as well as their various interesting endeavors and collections. The garden areas are so peaceful, and we enjoyed their elegant poodle Chloe too. We had a comfortable stay in the J. Webster Room, and breakfast...

We were looking for an overnight to attend a wedding and found this place. It was a great place to stay - the home built just after the Civil War, but fully restored and in great condition in a nice location. The B&B breakfast was excellent. Nothing exotic--just scrambled eggs, bacon, and silver dollar pancakes, but prepared with the best...

Room was cozy with a very comfortable bed and nice linens. The bathroom was well equipped. The added touches at breakfast were nice. Our hosts were pleasant and very informative regarding the history of the house and Front Royal and the surrounding area. We loved Lillie and Chloe (the two family pets.) The house is secluded enough for privacy but...

We stayed for one night in September. The house has been beautifully restored and the welcome is very warm. The personal touches are great and breakfast was the best we had during our two week tour. The room and bed were very comfortable and were individual.

Pricey for what you get. The Inn is in an awkward location out of town and there is no way to walk into town without going through heavy traffic and construction. So so breakfast quality. Stained linens and bathrobe. It was a mediocre experience that I won't repeat.

This is a most unfortunate review as it certainly is not a truthful one. It is hard enough being an innkeeper and offering a pleasant experience to guests without the occasional unhappy customer writing a review that is not an honest evaluation of our b&b. I know for a fact that the sheets and robes are not stained as the...

Our hosts were welcoming and informative without being intrusive. The location is pretty, in a lightly developed area with some historic structures, about 5 minutes north of the historic center of town. The home is large and impressive; the decor reflects the personal interests of the owners. I thought it was pretty and charming, and not frou frou. We appreciated...

Lackawanna welcomed us on a hot fall day with the beauty of the Italianate mansion it is, but with full updates of central air, great water pressure, and wifi. Hosts Phil and Sandy thoughtfully provided an open refrig stocked with beverages and snacks on the second floor and on the first floor, wine. Breakfast was great but even better was...

Phil and Sandy made us most welcome in this beautiful period home. The central air conditioning was most appreciated on a hot summer day. Phil is an excellent resource for local history and places of interest. The B&B is very tastefully restored and decorated to what it must have been originally like. I wouldn't have been surprised to see General...

Phil and Sandy were gracious hosts who offered wonderful breakfasts and snacks and wine in the afternoon. They have a great knowledge of the area and gave helpful hints about what to see from historical sites to vineyards. The Rose Room was delightful. The historical building dates to 1869 and exhibits beautiful woodwork. We would stay here again.
