Prepare for toilet overflows, phones were broken and you had to step over the toilet to get into the shower. Staffing was light, phone rang 50 times before someone picked up. The decore is new and fashionable but the bones of the facility are antiquated.
Easy on and off the highway. Had a bar and restaurant with limited hours but the bartender as friendly and helpful. Great haven along the way! Now that we have stopped more places...I realize just how nice this place was!
The bartender was more concerned about the number of hours he worked, the poor management staff, his responsibilities, etc. He spent more time complaining than waiting on the patrons. He spoke load enough for everyone seated at the bar to hear his complaints.
Great hotel as we were passing through Harrisonburg on way to Nashville. Very nice staff, yummy cookies and free coffee in the lobby. Comfy bed. quiet and clean spacious room. We were pleased with the service and would stay again.
I’ve always loved staying at Hilton’s because they’re usually clean, comfortable, and the staff goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome. This was the fourth Hilton hotel I’ve stayed at this year, I have a rewards account and Hilton Amex, I consider myself to be a very loyal customer. The first 3 hotels were nothing short of exceptional so I supposed my hopes were a little too high for the Harrisonburg Double Tree because boy was I disappointed. When we first checked in, we had a room attached directly to the pool area, just separated by a thin window and curtains that didn’t really close all the way. Zero sound barrier between that room and the screaming children in the pool. I guess that’s fine if you like the smell of chlorine and don’t want to get any sleep before 10pm. We got moved up to a new room on the second floor it was run down and had the lowest cleanliness standard of any Hilton I’ve ever seen. I thought cleaning measures were supposed to be more thorough since COVID, apparently I was mistaken. In the new room, the air conditioner vents were so disgusting and dusty, there’s no way they couldn’t have been cleaned within the last few months, the room was also pretty dark. Certainly not worth $160+ in my opinion, it might have been acceptable as a $50/night room. It didn’t seem to have bed bugs so I guess it has that going for it. If you love dust, breathing in chlorine, dark and rundown rooms, and management who doesn’t give a s*** this is the place for you. For the rest of you, I’d head on a little farther down the road.…
My family and I were on our way back from Tennessee and had been in the car for over 8 hours with a 4-year old and a 1-year old and decided we should stay over in Harrisonburg for the night. We were able to find a better rate on another site for the DoubleTree and booked a room. Since I was pretty tired, I didn't realize that I accidentally booked a nonrefundable room on the other site for wrong night. We made another booking for the correct night and went inside. Jason greeted us with a smile and, in seeing me chasing after my 4-year old (who had evidently been saving his energy during the 8-hour trip), offered us some cookies, which got his attention long enough for us to finish checking in. I then called the third-party company through which I booked the room for the incorrect night. I explained everything and asked whether a refund was possible. I was told that the hotel would have to agree to cancel the booking for the wrong night, and the third-party company would need to call the hotel and speak with someone to confirm the cancellation. Jason went out of his way to ensure the room for the incorrect night was cancelled and spoke with a representative from the company to convey the information they needed to issue me the refund. Our room was clean, quiet, close to I-81, and the staff were fantastic (mainly Jason, but everyone we passed or saw gave us a friendly smile). Jason is an asset and we are so grateful for what he did for us.…
Just stayed overnight while traveling. Property is very nice, well kept. Had a good meal in the on-site restaurant and a good nights sleep. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Karaoke that night was fun while we were having dinner. Would definitely stay again.
My wife and I stopped here on our way north on 81. We checked in online and had our virtual key. I’m glad we checked with the front desk to get our complimentary water and warm chocolate chip cookies…a Doubletree signature welcome item. Most delicious. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are quiet considering proximity to the interstate. There were a couple of maintenance items, to which I've attached photos. The runners for shower door were showing some mold and needed a more thorough cleaning and one of towels would have been good for cleaning my car. Other than that, staff is very friendly and I would highly recommend the Doubletree to anyone looking for a comfortable hotel at a reasonable price…and the chocolate chip cookies. Yum!
The rooms were dirty and had a bad smell. Hallways were also dirty. The only saving grace is that the pool area was enjoyed by the kids. We hope the pool had been cleaned. The hotel does need a total redo.
Poorly lit room. Bathroom didn’t have enough lighting to shave or for my wife to do her hair. Was told before we got there that restaurant was open. No breakfast in the morning. Never stay there again .
