The Hotel was clean and in a great location. Unfortunately there was No coffee in the lobby for guests. The $15.00 buffet breakfast was almost the Same as Hampton Inns Free continental Breakfast. Or we could Pay $5.00 for 1 cup of coffee and a previously Frozen egg Sandwich that you microwave. Ugh....For $189.00 a night I would Expect More.
We love the Hotel Madison. It is one of the only hotels that makes me feel like I am at home and I sleep great. It is so clean and up-to-date and the rooms are very spacious. Always a pleasant stay and never disappointing. Would highly recommend.
Hotel Madison is a gorgeous hotel. Very clean, beautiful lobby and rooms. The shower was okay, and the towels were hard and rough. Parking garage around the block with a covered walkway to hotel was nice.
Accenting the positive, the suite of rooms was spacious , clean, nicely appointed, well supplied and comfortable. The location is convenient and the parking is easy. The price makes this a good value. That said, there appears to be a need for better training of personnel as well as more efficient systems put in place. We arrived at 3 p.m. from out of state and were told the room was not ready and that check-in was at 4. Basically, the front desk told us to go away for an hour, and that we could not check in until 4. No offer was made to take our luggage and hold it. No suggestion was made as to what we might do for that hour. For the hospitality industry, this reception was rather inhospitable. Breakfast the next morning was equally unsatisfactory...disorganized, lacking personal touches, limited choices and overpriced. The restaurant/kitchen management needs to evaluate how to make this a much more inviting experience. It does not have to be upscale but it really needs to be warmer and more coordinated. We were very pleased with the area and would like to return. We hope that will include another hotel stay with an improved performance in the areas mentioned. …
I contracted COVID and the hotel took excellent care of me. They were very considerate and compassionate....from those at the front desk to the dining area workers. These folks are marvelous! I wish I could remember everyone's name who helped me...Tina is one person, but dinning room folks and housekeeping were fantastic, too!
The SWCW recently hosted our annual conference in July at the Hotel Madison; and we were extremely pleased with the wonderful conference facilities and the outstanding level of service we received. The staff we worked with was amazing! We really enjoyed the superior service provided by Alexa Wolf, Catering Sales and Conference Services Manager; Tori Bruce, Sales Coordinator; Harry Jarrett, Senior Sales Manager; and Joyce Sullivan, Reservation and Events Coordinator for the Montpelier Restaurant. In fact, when we asked any staff member for help, even if it wasn't something they normally handled, they went out of their way to get us whatever we needed, from easels to doorstops. The top-notch customer service was superb! We want to give one more special shout out to Terry, who served as the bartender for our Welcome Reception. He was such an outgoing and personable young man; and he made everyone feel very welcome. He told us he had served in several different positions at Hotel Madison, and he is definitely working his way up with his outstanding attitude. Great job, Terry; you provided a wonderful representation for the Hotel Madison.…
Once again your staff did an excellent job accommodating our cycling group. Facilities were more than adequate for our needs, and having one of the ballrooms for our evening events was an added bonus, as was the secure bike storage.
The worst 3 days of my life. Constantly judged for having a good time when trying to give business to a hotel that needed it. Didn’t even get to continue my stay because our group was kicked out of the hotel and our even canceled. Over a years worth of planning into the event gone just like that. Out of the 5 managers we spoke to, only 2 of them were relatively good people. The others looked for a reason to kick us out the entire time. We drank so much of their alcohol they served us hot beer. DONT GO HERE. 0/10
This is nice hotel overall. I would say there were some unexpected situations. They have an on-site restaurant with a $15 breakfast buffet thats worth about $6 dollars and also have a on site bar that is way overpriced for being on a college campus. Also the bathrooms I. Our room sounded like water running in the walls which I finally figured was the buildings negative pressure system just had to close the bathroom door to sleep. With these things know. It would have been a much better experience. We will see what the credit card company actually gets billed with the additional incidental charges we were not informed of until check in. It is an upscale hotel or is trying to be.
DO NOT host an event here. Admin is discriminatory and prejudice based upon appearances. Facility is nice and regular staff is very accommodating and helpful. “Nicer” places to stay and host an event in the “friendly” city.
