I needed a place to rest before I continued my drive back home to Florida. I decided to stay at the Residence Inn as I desperately needed to recuperate and grieve after the death and funeral of my 35 y.o. son. The room was very clean, well laid out and the king size bed was just what I needed to pull the sheets up over my head to spend the day sleeping and binge watching tv. I must have mumbled something about my situation as I asked for a nearby place to eat when I checked in. Later in the day, I was pleasantly interrupted by the front desk staff who gave me a sympathy card and a bag filled with snacks and water. I almost cried when I saw what they gave me. This very kind and thoughtful gesture made me feel like a real guest, not a stranger staying at the hotel. My sincere thanks to the thoughtful front desk staff. .…
The staff was outstanding. The room was clean and smelled fresh. The halls were clean. The pool and hot tub were outstanding. Wanted to use the patio ate but it was actually a little chilly. Over All great stay as usual.
We arrived after a long day of driving and we were grateful to find a room available at the Residence Inn in Harrisonburg. Calvin Edwards was on the front desk and welcomed us. He was very helpful and got us checked in quickly. I would highly recommend this hotel based on my personal interactions.
This hotel is a great value for families. The indoor pool area is a huge plus for our kids. The breakfast was good. The staff are friendly and hospitable. We will return on our next trip to SNP (Shenandoah Natl Park).
Good location, 30 mins drive to Shenandoah National park. The breakfast is among one of the best for all the residence inns that I’ve stayed in. With different varieties of food supplied, I like the omelette and the quiche best. The is also a pet friendly hotel, which is also a plus.
I have been traveling to the Residence Inn in Harrisonburg for over a year now for work and the hotel staff has been very accommodating to anything I need. Amanda always greets you with a kind hello and smile anytime you cross paths within the hotel. The breakfast crew Teresa and Candice have been doing a great job since Chef Bob has parted ways. I do not have any complaints but would not complain if the breakfast area was suddenly equipped with a waffle or pancake maker👀. Great hotel to stay in all around!
Just wanted to say how great this hotel is. I'm in town frequently for work and i love staying here. the staff if very friendly and accommodating to anything i need. Just wonna give a special shout out to Jeremiah, Bart, and Bonnie. Also, Amanda is a great employee. She always has a smile on her face and a great attitude. She is a great employee, and they are lucky to have her. Keep up the good work Amanda.
We stayed for two weeks in a Studio Suite. The kitchen had adequate dishes. We discovered the coffee maker was broken the first morning. They told us where we could find hot coffee in the lobby and sent the maintenance man up as soon as his shift started that mornin with a replacement. All of the front desk staff we approached with questions were professional and knew the answers. The room was well laid out and the bed was comfortable. The breakfasts were slightly different every day with a 3-4 rotation of 5-6 hot choices. There was always fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. Candice and Teres, the breakfast staff, were exceptional. They had a nice outdoor patio space off the dining area if you preferred to eat outside. The property also had a short basketball court! There were a few dining options within a block or so, though not the best. The hotel is set back off a side street so is quiet in spite of being near the 'big box store' section of town. It is within a couple blocks of a Costco (with gas station) and the I-81. JMU and downtown (with better restaurants) is only a couple easy miles away. We stayed at the Hampton last time we were in town. It fell far below the usual Hampton standards, so were wondering if the quality of the Residence Inn would be what we expected. We were not disappointed and will definintely return next time we are in Harrisonburg.…
Hotel is outdated. Bathtub had a “dip” in it and pink ? On bottom. No mattress cover but “pad” that had elastic straps and was meant for smaller bed. Bed had a depression in center so we rolled there trying to sleep. Bunched up and we took off. Sheets rough and on inside out. Ironing board cover was filthy. Glasses in cabinet had greasy fingerprints on them. We put all dishes in dishwasher before leaving and turned it on so clean for next guest.
Hotel advertised that it had recently been renovated, but they clearly forgot about the beds. King bed was so uncomfortable that I woke at 4:15am in terrible back pain and could not stay one more minute in the bed. We got up and left and sadly had an uncomfortable long ride home. Also, it was pouring rain and there is no coverage when you are bringing in your luggage. There needs to be a roof or overhang. Hotel room was clean, but the bathrooms are dated. Mattress cover was gross. They need new bedding. Toilet ran all night, we had to shut it off.
