I have stayed at multiple hotels over last few years for JMU visits always looking to try something different and I was very happy with this hotel and location. The hotel was clean on outside and inside. Everything in room was acceptable and includes small continental breakfast. The staff was friendly and the workout room is in pool house outside, not a big deal. The location is ideal for JMU events and perfect location to walk across street to eat as well as other places to eat or even see movies. I will also comment that I like a very dark room for sleeping and this place delivered. Would stay again.
The rooms are large and very nice. It looks like it was recently renovated because the hotel is older but the rooms looked modern. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room that both were clean and worked very well. The room was very clean. The bath had a large tub easy to take a bath if you are so inclined which I was. But the bonus was an awesome shower! Nice water flow and very pleasant! The room had a Keurig . We did not use it so we do not know how that is. There is coffee (regular and decaf) available all the time in the lobby. It was good. Hot water dispenser too along with some tea. The continental breakfast in addition to sweet breads, did have a couple of different egg sandwiches (pre-wrapped that could be warmed up in the microwave) and yogurt. The sandwiches were good for premade sandwiches. It was a good way to start the day. All the staff were friendly and very helpful They helped make our stay a pleasant one. We will definitely return when we are in the area.…
We were extremely pleased with our 2 nights at this Quality Inn. No complaints whatsoever! The staff was very friendly and professional, the room was spotlessly clean, the bed was quite comfortable, nice breakfast buffet. It was also very convenient to local restaurants and stores. We also discovered what a nice place the city of Harrisonburg is overall. This was one the best stays we've ever had - and Very Affordably priced!
Our stay was ok except at first glance the sink and bath tub was dirty, found hair in it. Otherwise it seemed to be clean everywhere else. The bed was comfortable and we slept fine. There were a lot of people in the hotel and the noise level seemed to be low. The breakfast was poor to say the least. The eggs looked aweful and they had no bagels to pick from. Cereal was the worst too. The choices were slim. They did have waffles but you had to eat it with a spoon as they had no forks. Was told it was on their order and they would get it next day. What do I do meanwhile. We left with hardly eating anything. I'd have to say it was one of the worst breakfasts ever. It was close to many shops and places to eat but the staff didn't seem to be versed on what was there except a few places that were expensive. They should have a list to hand out as requested. Otherwise staff was friendly but probably overworked as in the morning the woman had to do the food and the desk. If in the area I probably would not choice this hotel again.…
Very clean, quiet, easy on off from I81. The front desk employees were very personable. They have a small breakfast area and the hot breakfast was actually very good. Nice selection of hot and cold food, juice and coffee or tea. I would recommend this hotel.
We were traveling through Harrisonburg and decided to try this hotel. The outside looked good which led us to believe it would be a good place to stay. Check-in went smoothly, however, it was done incorrectly - more on that later in this review. They claim this to be a smoke free hotel but from the smell, it seems like it changed a few days ago. The elevator groaned up to our floor - after this we used the stairs. The room was large and the A/C was blasting when we arrived. It smelled like a combination of mildew and a perfumy fragrance and upon closer inspection, there was powder/granules laying on the vents. We turned it off and then the cigarette smoke smell then became the dominant smell. The chair in the room was covered with dog hair. Pet owners must pay an additional fee which is to cover possible extra cleaning needed but that owner obviously paid it for nothing. I can say that the bed was very comfortable. When exiting the stairwell at the first floor, the hallway stunk of fresh cigarette smoke (it seemed to be coming from the storage room so we suspect some staff smoked there). Breakfast was okay but was served in a room that was too small to accommodate the number of hotel guests. When we went to check out we were informed that somehow the payment was not completed even though I paid upon check-in with my credit card. Obviously, the mistake was made by the person who checked us in because we were given keys and assumed all was well. However, the desk clerk then proceeded to tell us that we could have left and they wouldn't have gotten the payment and would therefore have to pay it themselves and made us feel like we were being accused of doing something shady. I should have told her to have that conversation with the previous night's clerk because we did nothing wrong...well, other than staying at this hotel in the first place. We will never stay there again.…
We had a pleasant stay at the Quality Inn I-81 in Harrisonburg, VA. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. We had our dog with us, and the Quality Inn is pet friendly. We thought the breakfast buffet was especially good: There was a wide selection of both hot and cold items. The hotel’s location is just off the interstate, and close to a lot of restaurants. Checking in and out was efficient. We would stay in this Quality Inn again if we return to Harrisonburg.
Hotel said we would have an early check in when we called ahead many days in advance. We were told "no problem" now I'm standing in the lobby waiting for my room and am going be late to a wedding. Really unsatisfied.
This was a competent hotel - room was clean and bed was comfortable. They advertise as having a breakfast - a questionable statement. No hot items, just a few packets of instant oatmeal, cereal and grits. It would not even qualify as a "Continental Breakfast". I am so over these over the top "Covid precautions" which are really cost saving measures. Get the vaccine, 'nuff said.
Very clean hotel with a pleasant staff. We were greeted with a smile and the clerk acknowledged our status as a Choice Hotel rewards member. The room was modern with a large granite countertop in the bathroom. Nice furniture, including a wardrobe cabinet, dresser, desk, luggage seat and cabinet that held the refrigerator and kept it out of view. Nice continental breakfast with wrapped silverware as a precaution. The entire hotel was very clean. Lots of nearby shopping a loads of restaurants, many in easy walking distance. Great bedding as well.
