My husband, a couple of friends and a single friend rented three primitive waterfront sites over the weekend of 4/21-23. First, I have to say that sites P1, P2, and P3 are absolutely perfect waterfront sites. Fire rings are "hit or miss," but they state this clearly on their site. Picnic tables are in need of some TLC, but are...

Excellent staff, don't think the owners ever slow down. Excellent views, shaded lots. Yes there are permanent residents but the seasonal lots are all RV's. In a self contained RV so the bathrooms were not an issue. Found those clean and stocked. Pool was open for summer hours everyday and on time. Pool area was clean, playground was next door...

My wife and I were invited to a family event hosted by our in-laws at the campground recently. Our in-laws had their 25 foot travel trailer setup at one of the campsites and so my wife and I decided rather than driving to the event, then leaving afterwards, we’d rent a cottage for the weekend and enjoy the campground experience....

We stayed at this campground for 1 week in early June. We chose the campground for its location - it was only 20 minutes or so from Williamsburg, and we saved a lot of money compared to staying in closer campgrounds. The location was great. The scenery was the best part of the campground. We stayed in a primitive tent...

Stayed here for 4 days in May and unfortunately it rained the entire time. Most of the campground was pretty swampy. Even one of the roads was impassable. The views of the lake are rather distance and the rv sites very slanted. The cabins looked nice although small and the bathroom/showers old but okay. We were surprised how much of...

We stayed her for a week in April. The hosts were great and very accommodating. The campground had a lot of amenities for families and we noted some nice cabins for rent if you don't have a camper. Had a very nice camp store. The sites are large and easily accessible. Nice wooded area surrounding. Good location to many smaller...

The girl at the desk was nice but I expected a lot more for me and my sons on spring break. They didn't seem prepared for many guests. The ponds are supposedly stocked. All we caught were turtles... Maybe this is better during summer, I don't know. The best part for us was Geocaching around the county.

Kudos to the Allen family for reviving this place over the last few years. The campsites are all large and wooded, the big lake is a big plus for fishing and boating, the service is personable and helpful, and you're close enough to excellent York State Park and Williamsburg. If you're an RVer, you have your getaway with a decent...

Went there for Memorial Day weekend. Nice campground and very affordable. For details you can check out Edallens.com. Book early for in demand holiday weekends, and you may not need to pack much in your cooler as you are 30 mins from wonderful Williamsburg and its plethora of dining and entertainment options. Very good security at campground and neighbors looked...
