We looked forward to staying at a "Colonial" Inn. What a joke. Dirty towels -- A/C did not work (81 degrees in our room) -- bed frame was broken. Wingback & other upholstered Chairs that were ripped and then covered with sheets and blankets to hide the problems. Lights in room didn't work and many tables in rooms were made...

We had unfortunate AC failure in one of our rooms and we upgraded this party to our honeymoon suite and discounted the rate from $150 to $100. We are sorry to hear of the other comments and are checking into them.

Traveling the C&O Towpath by bicycle we thought this would be a convenient stop on our way to D.C. Across the river on the ferry, along the highway of fear and the climb into town found us right downtown! We checked into the hotel from the Georgetown Cafe next door. Allison was so friendly and helpful getting us checked in....

Thank you for the feedback. We have extra blankets in the closets of our rooms, but the fact that one of the rooms did not have one on directly on the bed was an oversight. We would have been glad to address this by calling down to our office - please note each of our rooms have separate thermostats and...

Was in need of a place to stay for business for the week and found this place. The place was adorable.....it definitely needs a little attention but considering the place is 150 years old it was well worth the money. The staff was helpful and most attentive and the location could was GREAT! Will definitely stay here again.

We are glad you stayed with us and will be returning. While a lot of our customers stay with us on the weekend in exploring history, wineries, or local festivals, we do get a good amount of business and airport travelers during the week! Thanks!

Stopped there on a Saturday after shopping near by. While not crowded, it was clear the locals like this place. We were seated promptly and politely. The owner, Tom, stepped over almost as soon as we were seated to welcome us and make sure all was well. Pub food is pub food, so the question is - good pub food?...

The Colonial Inn is a historic B & B – ten rooms are tastefully decorated with quilts, antiques and a little throw back to times gone by. Four of us stayed here for one night while riding our bikes on the C & O Canal Towpath. I ‘m not sure you could ride your bike here – too much traffic...

We stayed at here for a family wedding this last spring. . . but were moderately disappointed. The cost was low and the location was right downtown, perfect for us since several event locations were within easy walking distance. The staff was friendly and breakfast (served in the adjoining cafe) was fresh and tasty basic American eggs and omelettes. However,...

Thank you for the feedback and we are glad you found us within walking distance of many downtown attractions, and enjoyed our breakfast. You are right that our rooms are not large, but most of our guests are simply looking for a good night's rest. We get a good bit of positive feedback about our antique furnishings, but some would...

I stayed at this inn while on a bike trip from dc into Maryland. The owner was super accommodating, storing my bike in the wine cellar. Charming, clean little rooms in a great location in the center of the historical district. Plenty of restaurants, breweries, etc. great stay.

If you want a change from Chain Hotels and you are on your way to or from Dulles Airport, this is the place to stay. We stayed in the Lafayette Suite. Very good. We loved the beds and the heavy furniture. It is clean. It has space. The linen on the bed is charming with a lacy edge. No, it...
