I came to stay with John for a night while visiting Washington & Lee School of Law. I had never been to the area before and as a 22 year old on my own, it was such a relief to be staying with someone who not only took me under his wing and made me feel comfortable, but also took...

Thanks KR94, we have hosted tons of W&L law students over the years and it's always gratifying to help them out as they transition to our small town for their 3 years of study. Many come back to see us years after they graduate with their families which really makes us feel so fortunate to be innkeepers. John & Ellen

My husband and I spent a few days here for his 40th birthday and went trout fishing with John. We had a wonderful time, and successfully caught fish with John's excellent tips. He was a kind, thoughtful and gracious host. He made delicious hot chocolate and breakfasts and arranged for a birthday cake to be delivered for my husband. Lexington...

Meghan B, Thanks so much for staying with us, many of our DC visitors love to get outdoors here and we offer experienced advice on these countless opportunities. Natural Bridge State Park has greatly reduced admission rates and is continuing to expand the trails and outdoor venues there. We know how important birthdays are and it's always fun helping in...

My girlfriend and I spent a weekend at Llewellyn Lodge for my 30th Birthday. John took me out fly fishing and took the time to teach me the right way, as well as get rid of a few bad habits. He took me down to the river and I caught more trout than I have ever caught before. From small...

Clif, It was a delight having you both, from day one we have tried to make the Lodge the most comfortable B&B around. We are so glad you both were able to escape your pressure jobs to have some fun up here in the mountains. A few years ago Ellen won a Blue Ribbon as the best omelet maker in...

This is a late review -- I stayed here in August for a solo weekend vacation. John was very welcoming and gave me many recommendations for things to do around town. The house was beautiful, clean, and the room was comfortable. I can't say enough about the breakfast, it was delicious! I hope to stay here again soon!

Kasey911 Thanks so much for staying with us, we hope to see you again. One of the most gratifying elements of being an innkeeper for 32 years has been showing guests how to get the most out of their visit to my hometown. John

This is a belated review of my second stay at Llewellyn Lodge, in April 2016. It was excellent once again. The highlights are the longtime innkeeper, John, who is extremely knowledgeable about activities in Lexington and environs; the excellent cooked-to-order breakfasts; and the location: quiet, close to W&L, VMI, and Stonewall Jackson Cemetery. Highly recommended.
