We have recently spent three nights at Seatoller House, in the beautiful Borrowdale valley. The welcome we received from Nigel and the beautiful food provided by Trish, together with perfect weather, made our visit one to remember. they have the visitors books dating back to the 19th century which make absolutely fascinating after dinner reading. It is an ideal spot...

We had a fabulous house party in this home away from home. The management and staff are superb and did everything to enhance our experience with great food and more than comfortable rooms. The history, character and philosophy of Seatoller House is totally unique. Thank you Trish and Nigel for everything.

My twin sister and I had a marvellous few days painting made more enjoyable by the excellent food, accommodation and welcome. Would throughly recommend Seatoller for anyone visiting the lake district either walking, painting or for any activity. The owners attention to detail and consideration were a feature of our five day break. Nothing was too much trouble and the...

A delightful few days at Seatoller House. I served my time in the catering industry in this glorious part of the world. I have to say after working hard to come back here is a pleasure. Great food, great beers and wines and how good is it to allow my cat to say too. Will be back soon.

Woke to wonderful sunshine in Borrowdale during our long weekend with friends at Seatoller House. As usual, the food was delicious, Nigel and Trish pampering to our every need and the hotel is soooooo comfortable. I would recommend Seatoller House to anyone coming to the Lake District and looking for 5* service at a 3* price. Thanks Nigel and Trish....

This place is a real find - I wish I had found it 20 years ago! It's really geared up for walkers, with a drying room, packed lunches etc. But it's also extremely cosy, clean and comfortable. The food is excellent, with a great wine list. I'll certainly be coming back, hopefully on a regular basis.

Excellent evening on the C2C. Was slightly put off by the communal dining arrangement as am often a grumpy and non-social type. Especially in the morning. But it was actually fine and the chat was convivial and fun. The room was great and Nigel was an attentive host. Excellent food and a warm welcome - especially as we were a...

Historic Seatoller House has real atmosphere, and besides some Coast-to-Coast walkers like ourselves, there were plenty of other guests who clearly were staying there for the relaxing, almost other-worldly, experience. No televisions or radios (wifi is provided, a concession to modernity) and only the most churlish could resist falling into conversation with the other guests in the cosy lounge. A...

Best guesthouse we have ever stayed at bar none, Nigel, Trish and team are amazing, I've never seen anyone work as hard as Nigel does. The food is top class. Beef feather blade would be our favorite. We cannot wait to come back again for more of the same

We have been coming to Seatoller House for thirty years as it offers such a friendly place and excellent food. The food is exceptional, with generous portions of a varied and high quality menu.
