Very comfortable, great warm hospitality, and fantastic local and home-cooked food. In two comfortable days we visited Cass Railway, Green Bank Observatory, and Gaudineer Knob Picnic area. Jim and Lorraine are the best. A great B&B!

The online pictures do not and cannot do justice to the Sound-of-Music views. The hospitality of Jim and Lorraine matches that of a favorite grandmother or 5-star hotel. The breakfast, especially the pancakes, aren't to be missed. Lovely stopover for families. My 4-year-old enjoyed himself and the pets very much. Thanks for a lovely stay. We hope to return.

There are few options for lodging in the Monterey/Highland mountains if headed there for business, but this is the place of choice for relaxing and winding down. Wonderful hospitality from Jim and Lorraine. Limited wifi if you are trying to work but what the heck....enjoy the scenery and take a short walk through the woods to the cabins!

Hosts are very hospitable, rooms are comfortable, log cabin rooms are suitably rustic, breakfast is delicious, views are incredible, fireplaces are warm and cozy, walks on mountain are relaxing, plus there's a dog to keep you company...

One of the most beautiful places on earth! Comfortable, cozy and clean accommodations. Jim and Lorraine made a wonderful trip even better with their kindness and warmth! The breakfast is unforgettable, they even have gluten free options! I would give it 9/10, -1 because I had to leave.

My wife and I recently stayed at Laurel Point Retreat for two nights. I rode my motorcycle and she followed (not much for long rides). When we drove up the mountain and first saw the view I almost drove off the driveway. Jim met us and showed us around. Our room had a panorama view of the mountains to the...

Not only is the view breathtaking with the rooms and the cabin well appointed, but the Inn Owners couldn't have been more hospitable and charming. We looked forward to chatting with them over our breakfast of HOMEMADE bagels, jams and apple butter homemade from the garden, homemade pancake mix, farm fresh eggs, etc... If this place were closer to us...

Ditto every kudo you read in other's reviews - site, views, breakfasts, hosts, antiques, Jodey the dog, Donkey, iron sculpture hidden in the surrounding woods, hiking trails or sipping tea on a porch while nibbling on homemade breads. We have to go back here and stay again in the big house! Great setting for a barn-style wedding and then stay...

My wife and I had recently purchased some land in Highland County, Virginia. Because we needed to clear some brush on the new property, we decided to stay in Monterey while getting a weekend of work accomplished. My wife found Laurel Point online and called Jim to see if they could accommodate us on short notice. Turns out that their...
