My wife and I have stayed at the Inn twice now. Our first experience was less impressive than our recent visit. We decided to stay during the Highland County Hands & Harvest Festival. When staying at the Highland Inn, we do not expect the Ritz Carlton, we expect a historic building with charm, and in the case of the Inn,... More

Clean and in a beautiful area but we had no hot water or we had scalding hot water and our tub leaked, flooding the bathroom. The room had several extension cords and little privacy as you could hear the families in neighboring rooms through the walls. Not a place for a family with small children or if you are looking... We had reserved a room with air conditioning. At first, I was told that I was mistaken about the air. After my husband came in and said he made the reservation for air, we were finally given a room with a window unit. The day was hot and stormy so windows had to be closed to protect floors and furniture.... More

It hurt my heart to see the negative reviews. This is a treasure. If you want slick and modern you need to stay somewhere else. Actually, you probably need to be in another town as well. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We were in a third floor room with no AC. With the windows open we were chilly! In... More

The historical Inn is a wonderful place to stay with huge, wrap around porches. The rooms are to-date, which means no television, but the beds are comfortable, and the rooms are clean. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It felt like being back in time with all the old pictures and decor. However, they do have free wifi, so that... More

Went to surprise my mom who was staying here for her birthday. The staff was very helpful in making the surprise a success. The room was quiet and clean. Staying here reminded me of staying at my great grandmother's house. Comfy bed, no TV and no phones in the rooms but that is what made it so relaxing. The interns... More

OK, so she's a little worn. This grand old lady is still beautiful. If you're looking for modern conveniences, this Inn is not for you. However, if you can appreciate the timeless beauty of this historical presence, you'll be better for it. No phones, no TV, no AC (at least in the portion of the Inn we were in). Slept... More

This historical Inn is in the process of being restored to its original beauty. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. I want to go back in a few years after they have restored the Inn. Nestled in the valley of the Shenandoah Mountains, beautiful country

Stayed here while attending the Maple Festival. Quaint hotel that's being renovated. Was a beauty in its day. Restoration not loosing charm. No tv and no phone in room. Staff likes and willing to talk with visitors in the lobby, parlor, or tavern area. Couldn't ask for better service. Restaurant across the street. Got to see room that my husband... More

This place is a dump! We've stayed here twice and both times were awful. The heat doesn't work in the winter and the AC didn't work in the summer. It's VERY noisy all night long and was impossible to sleep. The restaurant is closed. The ice machine is broken. It's not very clean. The list goes on!
