a schizophrenic place. while the resort is nice and definitely has good substance, the room I was in was nice enough with a long list of imperfections that made any respect I had for the room disappear, although the room evidently received a minor facelift recently. But the workers who renovated the room seem to have done the bare minimum...

We have stayed 2 weeks at koh Chang. We meed some friends at the island they where highly recommending this resort. So with 5 more days to spare and cash in hand we approach the reception to ask for the best deal for us. We often book like this and nearly always get between 10 to 40 % discount. If...

So we have just got back from staying for 9 days! And it's a mixed review I'm afraid to say! This place is stunning in its setting, the villas are reasonably close together, but it's very peaceful. Sadly I don't think it quite justifies a 4 star rating! Allow me to clarify why! The rooms are really nice, but they...

This resort came recommended by a relative who actually lives on the Island and it did not disappoint. Wonderful beachfront hotel with luxury accommodation, good buffet style breakfasts and friendly staff. Probably geared more for couples with no children but this suited us perfectly. I would return.

It was our 2nd stay at the Barali. We like the smart style of the hotel. The villa are well designed and comfortable. The swimming pool is big with a jacuzzi area. The restaurant proposes good thai food at affordable price. The staff is really friendly! The hotel was very quiet during our stay (end of October - beginning of...

Ideally located on the beach, the "resort" remains a poor place to be. Rooms are dark and the bungalows are quite side to side. The nature here is beautiful but when you enter the room you feel almost uncomfortable. The bathroom is very "stylish" but personnaly, I think it is quite dangerous as all is in marble and you need...

What a beautiful resort, expected so much more. My wife and I are currently staying here for 4 nights and were very surprised (negatively) by their service and broken down services. Power has gone out multiple times, water in our room shut off for hours and we were unable to even wash after going to the bathroom. We waited for...

“Few rooms are actually on the beach with a seaview - and these cost a pretty penny. The other rooms are fine though, just a short walk to the pool/beach/restaurant.”

“If you have children under four request that you are not given a villa with steps up to it. We have two children (5,2) and were given a villa directly behind the spa which had a large trip hazard step, followed by four or five concrete steps to another four or five steps up another flight and on to a balcony which my children were delighted to try to climb over. Request a villa with as few steps as possible. Equally, if you are going with a young family and need a travel cot do check that the cot is included in the price of your room before you go. We booked with kohchang.com and despite our booking stating that we were a family of four, with two children aged 5 and 2, when we arrived at the resort the hotel manager said she was not informed of this and that we were only entitled to two bath towels and two beach towels, rather than a towel each. For a towel each we would have to pay extra. In addition, our room was not made up because the hotel said that as we had not booked directly with them they had no idea we were a family so did not prepare the room for a family. We negotiated a travel cot and a third towel but I had to practically beg the housekeeping team for a towel each as management just refused to give us the basic entitlement without trying to bleed us dry.”
