As most of the reviews suggest and same for me, many tour companies use this. In all honesty, I wouldn't choose this myself but there is nothing wrong with it. I prefer something more central and luxurious. Staff are really sweet and friendly (limited English but very nice). Rooms are spacious, bathroom is small but very basic and dull. There is a swimming pool in the middle and a small bar area. Clean and well kept. Location wise your about a 10 minute walk to the main area and tourist attractions. I didn't like the residential location. The area was not that safe and roads were quite isolated apart from a few small corner grocery shops. Do not walk alone. Walk in a group. As I said there is nothing wrong with it but it wasn't for me.

In one of my tours in Nicaragua I stayed at Mar Dulce and the experience was really good, the staff was friendly and always looking for what I need , cleaning, laundry or just offered some coffee for the afternoon Relative close to the central park, like 5 blocks ! The pool and the fact you are not in the main street made my stance there really chill , breakfast was included and they recommend me several activities and tour to book (recommendations not selling me everything, something I appreciate it) Next time there I will stay at Dulce Mar once again

The rooms are clean, comfortable and have very welcome air conditioning to help combat the stifling heat of Granada. No hot water from the shower, but hardly needed as more often than not you’ll be grateful for a cold/lukewarm shower after being out and about. This is not centrally located and is about a 15 minute walk to Parque Central through a residential area. I felt safe walking through the area, even in the evening, but remained vigilant. There’s a very good supermarket down the road, La Colonia, which is very useful if you’re on a longer trip. I would happily stay here again.

Stayed at La Mar Dulce for two nights at the start of a cycling tour across Central America, and it was a great introduction to the area. The rooms are fairly basic, but clean and with everything we needed. The little pool was great for a quick dip after a hot cycle ride around the city, and it's a very pretty little place. Breakfast was very good (no choice as such for our group, but it was different both days) and it was a treat to get a fully vegetarian breakfast without even asking... the only small negative would be it can get quite noisy - just because it's a small place so if people are sitting out in the evening by the pool it is literally right outside your room. It was a small niggle as I was quite jet lagged - it wasn't a huge issue. Plus Granada quite noisy anyway - lots of firecrackers going off. Loved the 80s music blasting from households on a Sunday afternoon - in fact really enjoyed my stay in Granada altogether, would have been very happy to stay much longer.

This hotel is beautiful with friendly staff who spoke English well. Very clean. I would recommend it and stay here again. The pool and bar area is just lovely. Nice location on a quiet street with security.
