A family-run hotel, in the centre of Granada, close to the main entertainment area in a very secure part of town. The rooms are located at the back of the building overlooking a tropical garden (an ongoing project). The hotel is across the street of a fitness centre, free for our guests. Nearly all Granada's main attractions are within easy walking distance. We can arrange transport to and from the hotel from anywhere in Nicaragua at very reasonable rates.

Great service. Gaby and the dogs welcomed us at the door which was very pleasant. Gaby's son, the cat and dogs are around when you are having your breakfast which gives a certain cosy family vibe. The breakfast is delicious. The room is private, clean and with a garden view. Quit calm place to relax. Would definitely go back when in Granada. Thanks for everything Gaby. We had an amazing stay at your place!

My partner and I stayed here for a few days at the end of March. Gaby was a wonderful host and helped us out in numerous ways, and we felt very at home during our stay. The location is great, i really enjoyed the decor, sitting area and yummy breakfast. Highly recommend it! A couple things to know: We were there during an intense heat wave, so not having a/c was a bit of a downside. We used the fan and slept with the door wide open, but it was definitely warm. In addition, the rooms aren't particularly private (especially when the door is wide open bc its hot!), so if you're looking for a very private place, that is something to consider.

I spent a night in Granada in April 2018 and I couldn't be happier that I chose to stay at Il Padrino Hotel. Gaby greeted me and gave me some great recommendations on things to do and where to eat as well as helped me figure out travel accommodations for the rest of my trip. The room itself was very quaint and clean. It had everything I needed including a small safe which I thought was a great feature. The breakfast was typical for Nicaragua - fresh fruit, scrambled eggs with cheese and ham as well as beans and rice. Very delicious and filling. This hotel is a great deal for the value and I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends.

I highly recommand the place. It is well situated in the heart of Granada, right next to the San Francisco Convent, just one street away from Parque Central. Gaby made myself feel like home. She is helpful at any time. The room and amenities are quiet, clean and air conditioned. The hotel is cosy. You get the choice of breakfast (granola or typical, and a big bowl of fruit). I left the hotel on the day of my birthday and she brought me nacatamales to try as a breakfast. A very nice gesture. I couldn't ask for a better place to stay and discover Granada. Thank you so much for everyting !

My daughter and I spent a few days with Gaby and Toby last December. Run by a family, we found our hosts knowledgeable and willing to offer information on the area as well as assist in booking tours. We had purchased a painting in Granada and after carting it around for a week, we lost it. Gaby not only helped us locate where we bought it from, she brokered the production of a replacement and sent it off to us in Canada. That is personalized service!!!

We absolutely loved staying here. So much so, we extended our stay by 2 extra nights. Gabby greeted us on arrival and was so helpful during our time there. Toby took us on a tour which included the Masaya market, viewpoint of Laguna Apoyo and the night visit at Masaya Volcano. All for $30 which was great value. We were lucky and had the room which is detached and faces the garden. We would often sit outside in the mornings and evenings. The room has a fan which is very effective. There is supposed to be hot water in the shower but this worked intermittently, although the weather was so hot it wasn’t a problem. Breakfast was plentiful and included rice and beans, eggs, toast, potatoes and a yummy salsa. It’s a really quiet hotel and located near to town. I would definitely recommend this place to stay.

Il Padrino is a lovely place to stay in Granada and the price includes a hot, homemade breakfast. The owners, Toby and Gaby, both of whom speak English, are extremely friendly and helpful who will help arrange tours. It is a small hotel and all the rooms open onto a lush enclosed garden. Each room displays one of Toby’s gorgeous abstract paintings. The only downside is that there is no pool. The location is convenient and close to the central plaza and the pedestrian mall where people congregate to enjoy good food and drinks, shopping, entertainment and conversation.

We were welcomed by Gaby, who is very outgoing and speaks fluent English and the two dogs, who are very friendly. Toby was there, but during our stay he only said ‘hi’ and that was all the interaction with him. The hotel has its pros and cons: PROS: -Gaby is a wonderful host -Rooms are big -Free breakfast -Close to the center of the city, easy to walk everywhere -Beautiful old building CONS: - it gets hot in the rooms, there is no air flow, besides the fan - not much privacy. The doors to the rooms are all big glass doors and unless you close the blinds, everyone can see you when they walk by. Of course it gets dark in the room when the blinds are closed. -wifi was spotty -breakfast was just okay. It’s interesting that they serve you eggs, but never ask how you want them prepared, they just serve it ‘sunny side up’. I hate runny egg yolks, so the second day I asked if I could have them scrambled (assuming we were getting eggs again) and that was no problem. I just thought it was kind of strange that they didn’t give you an option prior to preparing breakfast or at least let the guests know what’s on the breakfast menu (eggs, toast, fruit cup and gallo pinto) If we were to go the Granada again, I don’t think we’d stay at Il Padrino again. There are plenty of other options within the same price range.

We stayed at I’ll Padrino for 2 nights,Gaby the host was lovely and welcoming. The rooms were big and spacious, not much for furniture just a bed, 2 nightstands, armoire and a chair. The room does get hot so with the fan at full speed and the doors open it wasn’t too bad. The room had very interesting rope cleats for the blinds ( wooden penises) We were in the very last room, so we had to walk by all the other rooms it felt a bit awkward walking by the as people had their blinds and doors wide open so not much for privacy. Also when entering the hotel you have to walk thru Toby and Gaby’s living room and kitchen. The breakfast that was served was ok , rice and beans very dry toast and eggs with a fruit cup and coffee. As for cleanliness it was ok expect to find cobwebs in light fixtures and just general dirt and dust.Bug the beds were fresh and clean, that is the main thing. Also it would be nice if there were chairs outside the room so one could sit out there and read instead of in the hot room.

I have just stayed at il Padrino for 3 nights. Excellent place to stay for visit to Granada (Nicaragua). All rooms have en-suite with a large comfortable bed and large TV. My room was clean and tidy. Gabby and Toby were attentive hosts and provided their guests with lots of information and advice on the town, tours and security. The hotel was conveniently located to the life and soul of Granada but far enough away from being disturbed, which was slow ten minute walk. And the breakfast served was excellent. Highly recommended
