Pros: • Very convenient location – across the street from the park, near restaurants, etc. • Nice, spacious room • Nice café right next to the hotel • Nicely designed hotel Cons: • Breakfast wasn’t amazing, but it was included – and there are lots of other options and a café nearby as well

One of the best hotels on our trip around Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Beautifully furnished (just accept that wooden floors creak a little!) but they only do breakfast (included in the price)…. But there is so much else to choose from within a few yards of the hotel you don’t need to pay over the odds for basic hotel food!! (Check out the other 2-3 restaurant reviews on my profile for Granada if helpful) The laundry service is super efficient and relatively inexpensive. Staff couldn’t do enough to help… with anything you asked of them. Great location too right opposite the cathedral. Loved the place for the 3 nights we stayed.

I stayed at Hotel Plaza Colon in May 2022 and it was a fantastic experience mainly because the staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. They make you feel like you're the only guest there as I really think the only answer they know is "yes". Sadly, there weren't a lot of guests there due to the political issues and it being rainy season, however I would go back in a heartbeat. The hotel itself is beautiful and the interior courtyard/pool/breakfast area is very charming. The room I stayed was very large and the bath/shower were quite nice. Breakfast was very good that was included and the only issue was there was noise coming from nearby bars at night.

This was an attractive hotel with very gracious, helpful staff. Outside and just across the street was the plaza, quite the gathering place for people at night. Lining the street between it and the hotel were upwards of 14 horse drawn carriages waiting to take visitors around to see the sites. The open-air lobby was simple but attractive, and when you moved into the heart of the hotel, there was first a long room that was largely a garden area – very serene – followed in the next area by a lovely pool. I’d have not wanted to be in a room around the pool if peace and quiet were important, but it was a beautiful setting and great place to relax and take a swim. The hotel offered breakfast with our room, and it was modest but decent including a made-to-order eggs cooking station. Nothing elaborate. Our room was large (#202), attractively furnished and conveniently, it had a small sink and refrig in the sleeping area plus a reasonable shower & toilet room. Sadly, there was no elevator with which to move our luggage to and from our room, but the hotel staff were happy to assist. While not inexpensive, it seemed a pleasant place to stay, and if we returned to Granada, we would consider it.

I stayed in a balcony room for two nights and I think it was worth the extra money. The balcony had a great view of the plaza and cathedral. It was also a nice place to hangout and catch some breeze while you read a book. I stayed in room 204 and it was big but the bathroom not so much. I had an American breakfast one morning and a typical Nicaraguan breakfast the next morning and they were both tasty. All the staff were very helpful especially Victor.

What a beautiful hotel in the centre of town. The rooms were comfortable and air conditioned. Each room had a little balcony to sit outside and have a glass of wine before going to bed. Breakfast was included and it was delicious. I would stay here again.

This was our favorite hotel in our trip to Central America...until tonight. The beds are comfortable, the accommodations are clean and very nice, with everything you could want. The food is also great, and the staff is kind and very helpful. Everything was perfect for our first night. The problem came on our second night. We had a 6:00 am flight, so we decided to go to bed early at 8:00 pm. It is now 1:00 am and we have not been able to sleep for a single second, all because of extremely loud music coming from a bar or restaurant, and this is happening on a Thursday night. We could possibly deal with the music, but throughout every song that is played, the music stops about once every minute for some guy to yell names through a microphone. I wish that I could find out what restaurant or bar this was coming from so that I could leave them a one-star review. If you're looking for a hotel to sleep, this place might not be good for you.

The hotel is centrally located with great views of the city, and easy walking distance to all the local restaurants, bars, and sites to see. The staff was incredibly kind, and very helpful helping us organize all of our activities and dining experiences. The rooms were nice and clean, comfortable beds, and good AC/WiFi. Not to mention the breakfast that was included was very delicious! Would 100% stay here again!

It is ok. Staff are good. Rooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Bathrooms average. Rooms at the front which I had are prob not worth the premium. Very noisy in the evening and in the morning (from 5am!). Prob best to take a room at the back of the hotel around the pool area. The wifi didnt work in my room which was annoying. Felt safe and well sanitised for Covid
