L'Esplanade's singular advantage is its location. Located within the walls of Domme, the hotel offers commanding views of the Dordogne Valley and is just off one of the main squares. It also has a lovely, traditional restaurant, and outdoor tables for enjoying lunch or an evening glass of wine before dinner. Its downside is its age: the rooms are quite... More

This is a very traditional typically French hotel in an amazing position. It's situated at the top of the village with no designated parking but it was easy to find free spaces nearby even in August. Our room was on the top floor with a view over the countryside and the river - amazing, but the window was very small,... More

Never saw a 3 starts hotel with such bad staff. old hotel and bad restaurant! I don't recommend it!!! To avoid absolutely! Old owners who don't care about to be professional. Mme Boulant was really unpleasant and rude with us

This hotel is small but charming. The hotel is quite old with updates. It was special to stay in a place with so much history. The Turkish shower was interesting but just added to the charm of the hotel. Our room was on the third floor but the hote had someone to carry our bags up the stairs. We had... More

We stayed one night on a walking trip. Our room was fine, view great (we overlooked the walls) but hard to enjoy thru the one small window. Beyond this small negative this was a great experience. The restaurant is to die for, we sat outside overlooking the ramparts, and were served one of the best meals we have eaten in... More

I have recently returned from my third visit to Hotel l'Esplanade. This time I treated myself to a room overlooking the river. It was well worth the extra cost and I would urge everyone else to do same. Without exception the staff were friendly and helpful. As usual the restaurant produced food of the highest quality. The combination of ingredients... More

This is a very old building (what isn't in France?), so don't expect luxury here. Our room was nice, with only two small windows to look out. But what a view! Absolutely breath taking. I spent a lot of time at one of those windows! The room itself was unremarkable but serviceable. The main bathroom had a tiny shower so... More

We stayed here for two nights during a driving holiday in the area - bit of a quirky hotel, but had a great (if expensive) meal in the evening on the terrace of the hotel. There was no lift in the hotel, so it was a bit of a bind dragging our suitcases up the stairs (I think we were... More
