Enjoyed the friendly staff. Was a nice hotel in it's day but it's day has come and gone. Of course like most hotels they aren't offering any services, so stay at the cheapest clean hotel you can. Ice machine on the second floor was running but not giving ice. This one is ok, but certainly nothing special.

This hotel is the worst I've ever stayed in. i went to take a shower and the water doesn’t work, I called the front desk and they say I'll write it down.... No, you need to do something about it...There are 4 people here who need to shower and brush their teeth in the morning... and i paid 100 for this damn room the water better work... The person at the desk says they will call the manager and see what they want to do..... 30 minutes later i called back down and they say they will move us to another room. so we move next door... water works but it sounds like someone is grinding the floor when you turn the water on.. this hotel needs serious work and by the looks of it they only care about what the Lobby looks like... the lobby is nice but looks can be so deceiving.

This is just a very old hotel. It needs some serious updating. carpets old, walls pealing, bathtubs/ showers need resealing are chipped and worn. In our room the knobs in the shower were backwards. the hot was on the right and the cold on the left and the knob turned the wrong way. Considering all that the room was as clean as they could get it and the bed linens were nice and fresh. One big reason i give it a two and not a three is because it is so close to the highway that you can hear the traffic from your room all night. typical breakfast with fake eggs and fake sausage, pasties yogurt some fruit, etc...

Response from Quality I, Front Office Manager at Quality Inn Shenandoah Valley

We were very disappointed to hear that you were not fully satisfied with your stay, and wish to apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations. We immediately investigated your concerns, and would like some clarificiation as to the issues you experienced. The carpet in the room you occupied was replaced about 3 years ago, and has no damage or staining. Were you referencing carpet in another area of the hotel? Our hallway carpeting is older and replacement is upcoming project. Likewise I was not able to find any areas of "peeling" wall coverings, but there was a visable seam in one panel of wallpaper, and some bubbling on a closet area wall that we will have looked at. The hot and cold taps of the bath were not switched as stated, and in working order when we inspected this room. Left tap was marked as Hot, and produced hot water. We do however acknowledge that our guest room baths are in need of upgrade, and we are started full bathroom renovations on the ground floor within the next few days. I would also like to clarify that we prepare our scrambled eggs from eggs fresh cracked from the shell, and although the sausage links do arrive frozen, they are real sausage. Additionally because we take the extra step of using fresh eggs, our breakfast staff have received ServSafe training and certification. Unfortunately, being near the interstate is a double-edged sword as the trade off for easy access to major travelway is that sometimes the noise of the interstate is noticable, especially in cold and dry weather. We do understand that for some guests this can be a disturbance, and are more than happy to provide a room on the opposite side of the hotel, especially when requested, however this is subject to availability. We very much appreciate your feedback, and willingness to help us improve our service to all our guests. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide you a superior experience on your next visit to the area.

The manager on duty was very nice and helpful. The room was clean, but had an oder, probably from the old carpet in the room. The bath tub/ shower had mold in the caulk. The tub was clean, but they really need to remove all of the old caulk and get rid of the nasty mold. There is nothing that housekeeping could do better, the owners just need to update the old smelly carpet and redo the shower.
