We had a great time! Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We came for a weekend getaway and it POURED the whole time we were supposed to be playing, they switched our reservations, no questions asked. Nothing fancy but clean, well maintained, yummy food, cheap beer. (Youngest guest by far, but never felt uncomfortable!)

My son and I were traveling to JMU to visit his girlfriend. All the hotels were way over-priced with it being homecoming weekend. I stumbled across this place and called for their rates. They did not jack their rates up just because it was homecoming weekend. I like that about people. We stayed in a golf course view room. Loved...

Snuck away from the cold dreary north to escape to two days of wonderful golf and quite respite. While this little gem is not a 4 star resort, it meets the needs of two middle aged golfers to play 90 holes in 48 hours. Staff is great! Course in great shape and with 3 nines, you can mix it up!

We were looking for a pet friendly hotel to get out of the DC area for a weekend break. The Shenvalee hit the spot, and was an undexpected 'find'. Fair prices, perfectly fine accommodations (ok, rooms are old, but well kept, recently renovated, and if you ask for a golf course view, provides a spectacular vista of the mountains) and...

Shenvalee is a great place to have a fun weekend golf getaway for large groups. We have been visiting Shenvalee for over 10 years. The golf is great. The course will challenge the higher handicaps, but fairly easy to lower handicaps. Don't expect the rooms to be like a Marriott or Hampton Inn. The rooms at Shenvalee are old, but...

Our group of 4 lady golfers stayed for 3 days of golf. We had a really nice stay. The most outstanding thing we appreciated was the hospitality. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We ate at Miller Grille every evening. Had a great breakfast each morning (included in our package) A very nice buffet was set up, you could make...

My husband ordered the fish and chips, didn't expect Mrs. Gordon's frozen fish! I had the loaded nachos and they came "unloaded" (no chili). We would not recommend this place to eat. The gold course might me ok but......

Golf course is in great shape.Beautiful views. As long as you like hills and blind shots, you'll enjoy the courses. Breakfast is served mildly warm. No waffles. Dinners are not tasty -- overcooked burgers, bland spaghetti, rubbery meatballs and dry chicken. Servers are overwhelmed - not enough staff.

This was our first stop on a 6-week trip down south last winter, and we are making it our first stop again this year, but a month later. Did not know anything about this place until we passed thru New Market. A very reasonably-priced, clean, beautiful room was available overlooking (practically on) the golf course. We ate dinner and breakfast...

An old style motel, but freshly painted and very, very clean. A great value. Front desk, Tory, very friendly and helpful. The place was pretty empty, so we can tell about noise from adjacent rooms. Internet fine,
