We have spent five wonderful days here, with Scala as our home point while we tour the beautiful Amalfi Coast. Upon arrival, very late in the night, we were made to feel welcome at Villa Guiseppina. Every person we came into contact with was genuine...More
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. We were greeted by Francesca a beautiful girl with a spectacular smile. She speaks excellent English, very prepared to give us all the information to move and suggest excellent restaurants (especially SAL DE RISO and TORRE NORMANNA...More

We wanted to go to the gardens in Ravello, but Ravello is VERY expensive. La Margherita is close enough to walk to Ravello and had reasonable on street parking, but that was in October 2004.

I am not sure where you park to check in but we arrived in a bus for lunch and there was plenty of room to get in and out. The roads up the hill were narrow, as are all roads in that area, but everyone seems to manage well. The restaurant was very nice, two floors, open balcony looking over a beautiful view. The food was fresh and delicious. The family who runs the hotel are friendly and welcoming. I did not see the rooms or other areas, except the pool, but what I did see was lovely.

We flew into Naples and hired a taxi to get to the hotel (there are several lined up outside of the airport). I believe it was around an hour and a half for $150. We went into Sorrento everyday and from Sorrento you can take a ferry to Capri, which is something we did. The hotel is really nice, the views are amazing and Francesca (front desk) does everything she can to make sure that guests enjoy their stay. We took the bus from the hotel into Sorrento for the first couple days of our trip, but then ended up hiring a car to drive us for the remainder of our stay. Francesca introduced us to someone local that spoke relatively good English so he was pretty much "on-call" for us whenever we needed him. We probably spent an additional $40-50 per day doing that, but it was much, much more convenient than waiting on the bus.
