We had a really lovely holiday in Ischia and our stay in Hotel San Francesco has influenced our decision to return. The hotel provided a really comfortable bed and pillows, was so clean, quiet, with efficient air conditioning and balcony with views of the hills. Our room was small but fine. The location is so close to bus stops, a supermarket and the sea. All the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. Food was plentiful and fresh; eating on the sheltered patio with attentive staff under Rafaele’s management was very enjoyable. Well done to everyone at the hotel. Ann & Tom McGuigan
Recently returned from a 5 night stay here and had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday. It was certainly value for money . The hotel was very clean, pool area very nice and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had booked on a half board basis and weren't expecting great things for the evening meal and anticipated eating out. However all meals were adequate and tastey although a limited choice . Breakfast was as you would expect - eggs, ham and cheese and lots of sweet offerings - ok but a bit repetitive after 5 days. Location was good - about a 20 minute stroll from Forio , along the beach with plenty of places to stop en route. Entertainment on one night with a singer who had a large group of elderly Italians up dancing the night away. All in all - very pleasant . Oh and the island of Ischia is very nice with a visit to the castle a must.…
We came here as a family of four on the Fourth of July holiday for Americans. The rooms are clean and a decent size we booked two rooms, one room had a queen size bed and our teen boys shared a room near the pool with twin beds. The pool is nice the water is side and you can’t smell the chlorine, so it could be a salt water pool. There is a guy who came by and ordered us drinks which was awesome. Food- was ok, breakfast was European style you get rolls, butter, cafe, juice, eggs and meat plate with cheese. Dinner was hands down the worst dinner I’ve have here I wouldn’t recommend it. There was 8 of us and we all wanted chicken however we were told it was sold out. So we had to have their fish I eat fish but this was the worst tasting fish I’ve ever had. The price was only 18euro however they don’t give you a credit they just say oh well. The thing that upset me was that the Italians came in after us and got the chicken so I don’t know that was just wrong. Moving on our friends had the room next to ours and their AC went out during the night and they were like no big deal, they said we need to move rooms since the AC doesn’t work. After a hassle they moved them, you pay for a room you want AC. My other friend had trouble getting breakfast in the morning they got there before 9 and kept asking for food and the guy just ignored them, so they didn’t get breakfast. Final, I would say the beds are decent, the pillows were firm the place is clean and close to beach they will also drive you to a bigger beach for 4 euro a person and you will have to pay 28 euro for two chairs and an umbrella at the beach, the beach was nice and clean and beautiful. Stay at the hotel if you want to eat at different places and shop there wasn’t much shopping in this area. …
We found the hotel staff extremely welcoming and helpful -nothing was too much trouble! Rooms are small but all have balconies and are comfortable and clean; food is good and location very handy for both beach and buses. Well recommended.
My husband and I stayed her for a week recently, we had a lovely time, staff friendly, hotel clean, albeit in need of updating. Our room was thoroughly cleaned every day, including clean towels, clean bedding nearly every day. Breakfast was a little limited, scrambled eggs and small frankfurter sausages acceptable, no other savoury choices and far too many sweet cake options. Machine juice tasted awful, should have been fresh. Coffees excellent. Menu choices were ok for evening meals, enough quantity - but lacked much taste. Hotel is a 10 minute walk to a sandy beach, but 2 sun beds and an umbrella €15 per day! 5 minute walk to bus stops, buses run frequently but not to a specific timetable. Best to buy a weekly bus ticket - which you can use as many times as you like for trips all over the island. The Castle is a must! Overall, a lovely holiday!…
We have been staying there for almost two weeks now and we loved it here. Very pleasant environment, helpful employees, great cuisine and service. The bus stop is nearby. All famous towns are nearby. Perfect for families.
Myself and my two daughters, have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Ischia staying at this hotel. This is the third time we have visited this island staying in different hotels each time. This small hotel is in resort we particularly like as its small and has everything we need, a lovely beach, nice restaurants and a few shops. on arrival we were pleased to be put in Iris, which was two adjoining rooms with two bathrooms on the ground floor adjacent to the bar, we had a little sun terrace outside. The hotel and grounds are kept spotlessly clean, and it is bright and airy. The outside pool is a joy, and the inside pool also very relaxing with the hot water and bubbles. We were booked in for breakfast, which was plentiful and really good, so much so sadly I have gained a few pounds!! The staff working at the hotel were all really nice and helpful, both in reception and in the beautiful restaurant. I am happy to recommend this hotel, and would love to return. …
From the minute we arrived, the staff proved themselves willing to go the extra mile for us. The first room we were shown was supposed to be a deluxe room, but although a little larger than the other, it had very little light and the 'balcony' had a view of a garden wall two floors high!! Mimmo and Sabrina could tell we were disappointed, asked us to wait a few minutes, then offered us a different room "it is a little smaller". When we saw it our broad smiles obviously said it all!!! The San Francesco is a small family hotel with a relaxed vibe, and is perfect for a kick back and chill break in the sun. Our thanks to the restaurant staff and especially barman John Paul and the lovely lady who tidied our room every day. We felt the hotel really cared about their guests!!
Just enjoyed a week at Hotel San Francesco with my family. The hotel was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The staff work so hard and cannot do enough for the guests. We were in two adjoining rooms in the garden next to the bar. They were modern, well appointed and well maintained as well as very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, which was simple but authentic and well cooked. The hotel is well placed to explore the island and 10 minutes walk to the nearest beach. If you are looking for relaxation and a warm Ischian welcome, I would recommend. Special mentions to Sacha and his team, in particular Geanpaulo, Daniele, Amalia, Sofia and Lucia. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday.
We've had a great stay at Hotel San Francesco. Food, bedrooms and facilities were good and the hotel is well positioned - a 25 min walk to Forio, the nearest town, and 5 minutes to nearby shops, beaches and bus stops. What made our stay really brilliant were the staff - every member was helpful, friendly and worked incredibly hard. Gianpaolo, Daniele and Sacha made us feel especially welcome and looked after us so well during our week stay. I'd also highly recommend a massage from Lucia at the beauty room. Thank you San Francesco !!
