We booked this charming family owned spa hotel on the island of Ischia for the end of August into early September. The thermal pools which are alongside the swimming pools are amazing. These are very relaxing and you certainly feel a little bit pampered and special - they are certainly a great way to de-stress! The breakfasts are a typical buffet with yoghurt, cereals, fruit, freshly baked cakes and bread, cheese, charcuterie and juices. Bacon, boiled and scrambled eggs are also present for those needing something hot to start the day. Excellent tea and coffee complete the package. Evening meals begin with a buffet and you are then treated to three courses which you choose from a menu the night before. The food was very good and a real highlight was the trip to the family vineyard up the mountain when we were treated to a tour of the facilities and then some traditional Ischian farmhouse cooking and a little of the vineyards products! We had a room with a balcony and a sea view over Lacco Ameno which was beautiful and so typically Italian it could have come from a film. The hotel runs a shuttle bus into Lacco Ameno and Casamicciola with free drop off and pick up at pre-arranged times which is very useful as the slopes on the island may not be for everybody. If you are looking for a genuine piece of the real Italy with a chilled and relaxing atmosphere, great food and fabulous, charming, helpful staff you should definitely take a look at this place - we will be returning...

My stay here was just perfect. I found the peace, the relaxation, the comfort, service and spa were all I was looking for and very much needed! Excellent price quality ratio. Family run and the warm hospitality was second to none. Lots of pools, tranquility, quick bite at lunch time and easy to get around the island to experiment local cuisine in the evening. I especially loved the spa, Restituta has to be the best therapist I have found in a very long time, the prices are excellent, I strongly recommend the full spa treatment every morning during your stay. Then you have time to chill in hot tubs, thermal pools snd wonderful cool pools! I also advise you to visit their winery and dine in the cellar!! Their wine was excellent. The island of Ischia and this sanctuary were the most wonderful discovery of the year, I absolutely would love to return, for many years to come.

I’m surprised by the positive English visitor reviews. We found the place very Italian/German focused. Room disappointing, small and view restricted by trees/bushes. En-suite small and when showered, soaked all “bathroom” we did bed and breakfast, again disappointing, same thing daily and no fresh fruit or alternative yoghurts. Tried eating dinner twice, very disappointing, food had to be pre-ordered and was most definitely cooked in advance and kept under heat lamps! Staff not really friendly in English even though we tried Italian. Vineyard tour, be prepared for a hike! Wouldn’t say it was worth the money if you don’t speak Italian! We love Italy but would not visit this hotel again. One positive was a barman who spoke English and gave great G n T’s wish I’d been able to tip him, but he wasn’t on duty on our leaving day.

This isn’t the fanciest hotel ever but it’s extremely good value for money. Nor is the location amazing because it’s up the side of quite a steep hill- although you do get some amazing views. What I would say is the staff are second-to-none and would bend over backwards to be accommodating, particularly the proprietor- nothing was too much trouble. They have a free shuttle bus to get you down into the town, and also arrange trips from the hotel, so there’s plenty to keep you occupied. My favourite evening was the organised trip to the family Vinyard and Wine cellar where we sampled wine made on site and fresh food made with ingredients grown in their fields. It was authentic, cosy and just brilliant fun. Thank you so much for your hospitality and making this holiday a memorable one for the four of us.

La Pergola sits up in the small town of Lacco Ameno and it is beautiful. The hotel boasts 5 swimming pools with thermal spa baths and fab jacuzzi. Our room was small but very clean with gorgeous floor tiling, and huge balcony. We were there for half board. Breakfast was more than ample, but I think it would have been nice to see some fresh fruit on a basket and maybe fruit yogurts. The evening buffet was amazing really good wholesome veg and salads, etc. They then serve a further 3 courses which are nice but would have expected better for an island that produces natural organic produce. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. The waiters were really kind and friendly especially Michelle the barman/tea maker, Salvatore, Roberto and Flávio. The owners were great too, even picked us up after the scheduled shuttle time. The hotel arrange a vineyard tour with amazing meal afterwards which was excellent. The shuttle service is good, it takes you right into the town, where you can take a bus to any destination in Ischia. We did the island tour which was superb and our guide was very nice and informative. Sant Angelo is a must see. I would definitely use this hotel and Ischia again, it’s a pearl of an Island. Pop over to Capri too, go on rail car in Ana Capri beautiful breath taking scenery.

Enjoyed a 5 night package here as couple 21-26 May 2019 . The family ownership & attention to standards ensures excellent service. Most of all we enjoyed the relaxation provided by the 2 outdoor heated pools, 3 thermal pools & 2 indoor hot tubs. Located on the hillside & walkable but hotel very helpful in providing a free shuttle service. Food & wine from own vineyard enjoyable.

Arrived after a long journey at 2pm .....we found reception staff functional and lacking warmth. To decide there and then about meals etc is a poor start to any arrival. We were surprised as to how small the room was with the smallest shower we have ever seen , let alone in a hotel. Room and bathroom very clean and the bed was very comfortable. The TV was of no use at all there being no English language channels. The air con did not work ...no big issue but for October the day temperatures were in the early 80 f....delightful but the room did get stuffy. We made sure we had our own tea making facilities as the the hotel does NOT provide these so if you like your tea in bed morning or night go prepared!. The balcony was poor affording no views at all. We did ask to see other rooms but they had a large shared balcony with another room who had smokers....not for us. On the upside the hotel is in a great hillside location with terrific views out to see. The numerous pools were clean, the thermal pools were very warm and lovely to relax in. The spa was a very big let down with no ambiance or atmosphere and in great need of updating and refurbishing and the staff were not caring or gentle at all making the experience an ordeal.....our advice is to avoid it. Food was very hit and miss ...breakfast buffet was a little limited but with a great location looking out to sea and evening dinner was either very good or at times inedible. The dinner at the vineyard owned by the hotel was however excellent. With the weather being as superb as it was we put these issues aside but our few nights there were enough and we were pleased to leave. As mentioned the hotel is on a very steep hill and not suitable to walk to town or back without using a taxi. We find it difficult to recommend this venue and we would not return despite recognising it as a three star hotel with all that that grade means.

we were a group of eight and stayed at this hotel last week. we had an absolutely great time at this place. Granted that the hotel is not five star but the service offered was nothing less than 5 star. The owners were always there to hand to help be it 6 in the morning or 11 at night. we felt like at home, the stay made comfortable by the ever smiling owners and staff. They advised us about travel, helped us by local commute and catered to special dietary requirements and all with a smile. Do not miss the Cacti garden. its beautiful. the climb to Mount Epomeo was breathtaking. The visit to the hotels vineyard was memorable. All in all it highlights the passion of the owners Arnaldo and Peter in providing a first class service. The food was excellent, the location close to town centres and the free shuttle a great help. thoroughly recommend the hotel for stay in ischia.

Before I say anything else, it is important to remember that this is a 3 star hotel, and so it will not be perfect. The basic rooms are a little small without much storage and bathrooms could do with renovation. Unfortunately the first room we were shown had a balcony covered in trees without sun or view. The staff tried really hard to help us but the hotel was full, so we agreed to pay for an upgraded room which was perfect. Much more storage and a lovely sun terrace with beautiful views and sun most of the day. Having moved to this room, the hotel couldn’t have been more perfect and the staff couldn’t do enough to help us. The food was delicious and very plentiful. I really miss the melon and ham and starter table. There were plenty of places to lie in the sun with lots of little places to sit quietly and have a drink. We could always find sun loungers. The trip itself was organised well and we were met and picked up both coming and going, without a hitch. This applied to our trip to Vesuvius and Pompeii which we organised easily through the hotel. The trip to the hotel vineyard was amazing, both the tour and the meal afterwards which was provided at no extra expense. It was a fun evening especially as we met Carla there who spoke no English. We spoke no Italian, but a combination of sign language and Spanish got us through the evening. There is plenty to do on the island. We weren’t too adventurous as needing a relaxing week, but walked down to the town several times. The walk back is interesting as straight up the mountain side. It certainly burnt off the gelato that we had in the town! There was often a mini bus that took pity on us and offered us a lift even if it didn’t come from our hotel. We also walked to the local thermal spa just a bit further on from the town. A good fun few hours. If you go in after 3.30 pm it is a lot cheaper and still enough time to do everything. The only other comments I would make are : 1) take insect repellent, there were loads of mosquitoes 2) not a good place if you are not fit. Loads of steps and hills.

We have just spent ten days at this delightful family owned and run hotel and were very happy with the whole experience. After seamless transfers from airport to port and taxi to the hotel we arrived at the very pretty hotel, set on several levels. The first experience for us was to try the spa and we had a mud wrap, thermal jacuzzi and full body massage (other treatments available at reasonable prices). This is a three star hotel but the efficiency, friendliness and helpfulness exceeds expectation. The rooms are modest but very clean and comfortable. Housekeeping is very good with towels changed daily and bedding every other day. If there is a negative it is that there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. Also the shower is a little small and the floor slippery, but these are not major issues. The hotel runs a courtesy bus to and from the local towns frequently during the day and the evening. It is an easy ten minute walk down to the town but, the hotel being on a steep hill, the walk back up could be a challenge. There are lovely views of the town from the terraces of the hotel especially at night when the lights come on. The quality of staff here is high. Everyone from the room maids to the bus driver, receptionists and the many waiters are so friendly and efficient. Special mention to Salvatore, who provides a level of customer service above and beyond. The brothers who own and run the hotel have a very hands on approach are always available to offer assistance to guests, and are there to enthusiastically greet everyone at dinner. A nice personal touch. The happy guests here were mainly German, some French and, always a good sign, Italian which gave us the opportunity to have friendly conversations around any language barrier.
