Stand out is Sarah at breakfast, but Elena and Restitata on reception could not be more helpful. If you want to chilling after the culture of sorrento, then choose here. Easy walking to ischia port for bars, restaurants. But also would highly recommend Da Cairo.
Beautiful hotel. Rooms are gorgeous with superb outlook over to the castle. Room was spotless, very, very comfortable. Air conditioning was included (and was needed, very hot the time we were there). Pool area is beautiful, lovely big pool which we used a lot, Lovely breakfast room on the ground floor, the staff were entertaining as we got to know them over the two weeks. There was a great choice for breakfast both hot and cold food.. order at table and it was delivered to your table by the waiting staff (covid restrictions). We tried the rooftop bar a few times which was beautiful, lovely wine and snacks served before going out for dinner. They also have a rooftop restaurant but we did not visit it during our visit preferring to head into town for evening dinner. Looked beautiful.…
A superb hotel. The staff are lovely. The hotel is immaculate clean. The room was large and had a king size and a single bed. Very comfortable. Had tv free Wi-Fi a mini bar stocked each day. Had tea and coffee facilities which were replenished every day. The breakfast is a choice of hot and cold food. Very adaquate. We had a large terrace with a sun bed table and chairs. The pool area is beautiful. The hotel has a restaurant on the top terrace. It has beautiful views. The breakfast team ran by the lovely Sara are exceptionally friendly. After 15 years still returning.
Have just spent a week here and it’s been lovely. The hotel is kept beautifully clean in all areas. The pool is perfect, with a great bar with a friendly and efficient barman if you fancy a drink. The main USP for me was how great the staff are. Emilio and Giovanna at Reception were super helpful . The waiting staff for breakfast really looked after us, the breakfast being plentiful and all very tasty. A few small niggles which was a lack of draw space in the room and the the wifi was a bit sketchy, but all in all it’s a super little hotel
After 3 long years we returned to Hotel Villa Durrueli to find the same five star service in an improved venue. The staff at this hotel are nothing short of amazing. It has a fabulous new restaurant and bar area, serving amazing appetitive and dinner. There is a DJ playing throughout the evening creating a holiday vibe and atmosphere to what was once a pleasant but quiet bar. The food is just as wonderful as ever, expertly prepared by the chef and his team. Breakfast is a la carte with plenty of choice. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The only thing unchanged is the location which is perfect for both Ischia Ponte or the port for shopping or dining.
The best things about this hotel are the pool area, and the positive, friendly way some of the staff - for example Mario at the pool bar/restaurant, and Sara on the breakfast team - truly make you welcome. It’s also in a quiet location, which helps. And while there aren’t major negatives, there are a few niggles. The rooms are pretty basic, the bathrooms even more so. You don’t really feel like spending any time in them at all. Our ‘AC’ never went below 27oC, and repeated enquiries to the front desk about it were never acted on. Personally we also found the rooftop restaurant a bit pretentious and fairly underwhelming, but others might find it more to their taste. It’s a decent enough little hotel, with some very good team members, but overall could do with an overhaul and injection of TLC to make more of its potential. Finally, just another thumbs up for Mario to finish with - a guy who truly gets customer service, and knows how to make guests’ stays special…
The hotel is pleasant, in a good location, but a with a few issues that need attention. The pool is the highlight, with not much ‘towel reservation’ of loungers. Reception area is nice and open. Breakfast was pretty standard for this type of hotel, and very pleasantly served. Be aware that the roof terrace has a restaurant with very loud music until midnight some nights - heard loud and clear from the bedrooms. We found the bathrooms to be seriously below standard, and in need of a complete refurb, but in the meantime a deep clean to get rid of the black mould and encrusted limescale would help greatly. And would not take long. The reception staff varied widely in terms of willingness, ranging from extremely helpful to disinterested. I witnessed a guy who had forgotten his phone charger being told they could not help, and did not mention an electrical shop just down the road. Another guest was able to direct him. Unimpressed by that. The views are fab. Overall it’s fine.…
I'm sure this is a wonderful hotel BUT if you make a reservation that includes a pre-booking on your credit card be AWARE that they do not have a 3D secure system for this. So banks that require this will not accept the advance reservation and you will be notified by the hotel that your card is blocked. This posed a lot of problems for me, which ended with me being canceled and then there were no rooms avaliable the first night when making a rebooking. Even though I did it just minutes after the involuntary cancellation and was in contact with the hotel. Sad for us with all the extra work that included several calls to the bank, several emails to the hotel and to Booking. Booking did not seem to have a clue about this and it is not just my bank that makes the demand. The problem is that many hotels do not have a secure system for making advance reservations, but I as a bank customer can not opt out. Although it is difficult to say who failed in this case, I feel upset and ill-treated. Not least because of the hotel's non-existent kindness and willingness to help. With that said and perhaps due to the unpleasant email from the hotel, I want to emphasize that I have never stayed at the hotel and will not do so.…
