Excellent staffs. We went there everyday for their vegan pastries which are just so good.If you come early, between 7.30 to 8.30 you will be lucky to have them hot and ready to eat. There is also a vegan chocolate cake . They are very welcoming and kind.

We had carefully selected our hotel while we were going to be in the Alberobello area and the Donatello seemed prefect. We had along drive that day and just wanted to check in, stay there and walk to dinner and spend a night in an air conditioned room. We made our reservation directly with Marta so she could avoid the booking.com fees, ect. Less than a week before our stay she emailed us to say our room was not available but we were moved to another B&B. This turned out to NOT have a/c or a restaurant and the rooms and reviews were not nearly as nice. We refused this change and asked for a room similar to the one we had reserved over 4 months ago to no avail. We were never sure of the reason that Marta cancelled, but that is no way to treat a future guest!! All turned out for the best as we found B&B Le Bianche in Noci which was delightful.

Response from Pasquale Leogrande, Direttore generale at Hotel Donatello
Responded 8 Aug 2020
Dear cordyroy we are very sorry to read your review and what happened to your booking. Unfortunately we had to move your booking to another property due to an error (not ours) in the communication of the number of rooms by a guest group at our hotel on the same dates as you. Moving the whole group would obviously have been more complicated (if not impossible) than moving just one room. And we are really sorry for this inconvenience, especially because it was caused by a more unique than rare event! We tried to move to a nearby structure, very nice according to many guests, but we are sorry you did not like it. Again apologizing for what happened, we hope to be able to welcome you back to the next opportunity in Puglia and to certainly offer you a more comfortable and satisfying experience without unexpected events. Best regards

Full of locals and tourists so best to book on Sundays. Good choices on the menu. A lovely Italian experience made by the friendly staff. They opened up early at 10am just to let us watch the rugby World Cup semifinal Wales/South Africa. We were served cups of coffee and glasses of beer all while they were setting up for a very busy Sunday lunch. A special treat was to hear lovely singing coming from the kitchen. Happy chef cooking food to make happy guests.

During a trip around Puglie we stayed two nights in Donatello. A pleasant hotel without any problem. Clean room. Fine helpful staff. Tasteful breakfast and a beautiful surrounding. Enough free parking, good WIFI. A bit more sunshine would have been nice but I cannot blame Donatello for that. Loved to be there !

As folks are writing this is not in Alberobello but Coreggia. Make sure your GPS knows that or you will really get lost like we did. We stayed 3 nights. The room was clean, we had a balcony, the parking was easy. For us, we wanted to see all the little towns and go to the grotto . So the location was perfect. The three people who run the place were very friendly and helpful. One person gave us great restaurants to go to in Noci. One of the best meals I had in all of Italy. The breakfast was excellent. If I was to go back to this area, I would not hesitate to stay there. But, if you really want to stay in very touristy Alberobello, this would be too far away.

Participating in an organised round-trip to Puglia, we spent 5 nights at the Donatello in Coreggia in mid September. This hotel was selected by our trip organizer and included on a half-board basis. Our first impression was most welcoming and our room was quite nice. However, the bathroom facilities turned out to be way below standard - a super-tiny shower cubicle with a broken water mixer tap, absolutely no space to bend down to wash even if the cubicle door had worked properly, which it didn't, and warm water was mostly not available. We reported this to the management immediately, but sadly nothing happened to remedy the situation during our stay!

This hotel is NOT (as advertised) in Alberobello. It is 15 minutes' drive away, or 6km in a village called Corregia. My UK SatNav took me to Via Angelo Turi 98, right in the centre of Alberobello, which turned out to be a private residence. As luck would have it, a teenager leapt into my car to escape from a mad dog, and he was able to help me locate the village of Corregia. But the hotel is pleasant, quiet, and staff are helpful, rooms clean though a little aged. As long as you have a car, you'll be OK. But for heaven's sake do not arrive at Alberobello on public transport because you'll face a very long hot walk out to Corregia.

Response from Pasquale L, Proprietario at Hotel Donatello
Responded 17 Aug 2017
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for your valuable feedback relating to your stay with us. We were all happy to read that you enjoyed the hotel, staff, room, breakfast as well as our location just 5-minute drive from the city center of Alberobello. As you mentioned, unfortunately in Alberobello there are two streets with the same name "Via Angelo Turi" and we feel sorry that the instructions on our SatNav have not been as helpful to you as expected. On our website and to all those who ask for it, we strongly recommend to get directions on google maps by directly selecting Hotel Donatello or setting GPS coordinates (40.805559, 17.265325) on SatNav to avoid this ambiguity. Let us only point out that our hotel is in Coreggia and Coreggia is a beautiful and quiet area of the municipality of Alberobello not an independent village. We are in Alberobello, free of hectic traffic and noise, surrounded by beautiful Apulian countryside and at the same time very central to the main tourist attractions. For those who do not want to move with their own car or on foot, and to overcome the current lack of public transport, our hotel also has on request a shuttle service to and from the center of Alberobello. We can assure you that we absolutely do our best to exceed our customers’ expectations and we hope to the opportunity to welcome you again at the Hotel Donatello. Best regards, Pasquale

Beautiful clean rooms with generous balcony, splendid breakfast with fresh burrata and jam, and friendly, efficient staff. Most tourists in Alberobello rent cars or drive their own, so the 6 km walk to the trillion zone would not present a problem.

Stayed here for a two night stay on our Italian vacation . After a long drive from Pescara we were tired but wanted to eat and plan our activities for the afternoon and the next day. Enter Pasquale out host and owner of the hotel. He immediately prepared us a quick lunch as we were all very hungry. We invited him to sit with us and to help plan our activities for the two days we were there. He was kind enough to offer his services to drive us to and from Alberobello to see the famous Trulli, as well as drive us and pick us up the following day when we went to see the famous Caverns in the area. All in all I cannot say enough good things about Pasquale and his assistant Marta who was fantastic and always greeted us with a beautiful smile . They were both amazing people. We did not feel like strangers at a hotel but more like friends visiting . The service is superb . I would highly recommend this hotel . We came to see the Trulli and we ended up making new friends at Hotel Donatello. 😀😀😀😀
