We stayed two nights in this great agriturismo and it was one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. The farmhouse is beautiful as is the Umbrian countryside. Our hosts, Marco and Gaia, went out of their way to see that we had a wonderful time. Gaia is a talented cook.and Marco is passionate about the quality of the...

This was my first visit to an Agriturismo - located outside of Orvieto- what an incredible experience! The owners made it so much fun with their interactions. It is an old farmhouse located on a working farm - growing grapes and olives. The owners a husband and wife team were so interesting friendly, informative and she was a great cooked...

We recently spent an entire week at Poggio della Volara and it was most definitely the highlight of our trip to Italy! Marco and Gaiva could not have been more gracious and their spacious property was beautiful and so inviting. We rented a car to take day trips to the regional historic hill towns and spent our evenings at the...

Hi, just wanted to share an experience I had with the owner of property Marco. I got a voucher from my friends as a wedding gift in August 2014, voucher had no expiry date, and Marco confirmed in email that we can use it in 2015. In January I was trying to book a place in May, but he told...

This place is WONDERFUL! The setting is breathtaking, the facilities are top notch, the food outstanding, the owners and staff are like family with their guests. Marco and Gaiva are personable, helpful and cheerful. They're proud of their establishment, as well they should be. It is a working farm complete with chickens (no other livestock), and 2 wonderful dogs. We...

This is all one would expect from a agriturismo. A extremely friendly and welcoming couple, running a beautifully and well taken care of guesthouse in the middle of their olive and grape fields with mountains overlooking Orvieto. The pool and garden have a fantastic view and give space for all to relax and enjoy. The surrounding villages are as one...

Marco and Gaia and their dog Vella were great hosts in this beautiful farm setting. Meals were outstanding. Views of Umbria and beyond and a fantastic pool. Room was good size. Bathroom also large and shower okay, got a bit sketchy between hot and cold on the second morning. Good breakfast.

After a day filled with unfortunate events, we rolled into Poggio della Volara and entered..."paradiso"! A most welcoming and hospitable couple, Marco and Gaiva, sheltered us from the rain and fed us a scrumptious feast with just an hour's notice, though we were their only guests. Our room was beautifully equipped and artfully decorated, a reflection of Gaiva's aesthetic. Dinner---penne...

I was a single woman, traveling with a tour. When we arrived, it felt like home. I had caught a cold and stayed behind while the rest went to Orvieto--while I was lying in a hammock in the sun trying to get well, Mama came out of the kitchen with homemade chicken soup just for me! The rooms are just...

When you dream of a weekend getaway in an Italian villa, you are thinking of Volara. The grounds, accommodations, food, pool, and hospitality are reminiscent of every Hollywood depiction of a villa in the Italian countryside. From the cyprus trees, homemade wine and olive oil, breathtaking views of the valley and nearby Medeival cities, rose buds on each place setting,...
