The hotel wasn't too bad at all. The position in Machico is better than staying in a hotel in Funchal because, from what we saw, most of the hotels in Funchal are in a part thats a bit llike a concrete jungle. Machico hasn't got a lot going on but its got a lovely sea front promenade and beach and... More

My first visit to this hotel 5 years ago was great. I can't believe the change. The breakfast was a shambles. If you weren't down early there were no clean tables and people were clearing tables so they could sit down. There was only 1 waiter for about 50 tables! The hot breakfast was 3 dishes, either scrambled eggs, mushrooms... More

I have just had a week at the above hotel, all inclusive package in a club room. I found the following brief description the most current appraisal of the situation as of last week. The mini bar contains 2 beers, 2 Pepsi, 2 bottles of still water and 2 water with gas, no other alcohol, these were replenished daily. A... More

This hotel is ok for a relaxing break for a week . I wouldn't want to spend 2 weeks there . We found the staff very miserable , they made no conversation what so ever. The food at the all inclusive restaurant was very dissapointing , the main meals consisted of 1 soup , 5 turines , two of them... More

The Dom Pedro Baia Club was just as we expected. It was a bit dated and was deadly quiet when we first walked in, but was immaculately clean, light and airy. There are fantastic views from every window in this hotel. The location is absolutely excellent, less than a 5 minute taxi ride to the airport, but surprisingly the planes... More

It is advertised as a Club hotel and yes you do get the facilities BUT you also get the regulations! Pool opens 9 until 5 (well did when i was there) and you were asked to leave the pool if you were still in! They needed time to rearrange the longers that we havd so "unceremoniously" laid upon during the... More

Not many British staying at this hotel whilst we were there, this is reflected in the food, which we enjoyed...but may not suit a lot of British visitors. Hard to fault this good value for money hotel really, staff were polite( rooms kept nice and clean by cheerful ladies!), nothing was too much trouble. For those who like a little... More

definately not a 4 star hotel very disapointing thought we would give Machico nice place a try. hotel food was very poor, breakfast choice was a joke watered down fruit juice, hard boiled egg and a saveloy sausage, or next day really greasy fried egg with greasy bacon, but fresh bread was surprisingly good. No air conditioning or fans in... More

We were lucky enough to get a great all inclusive deal to the Dom Pedro Baia in Madeira just minutes from the airport. Although the hotel was quite old it had been refurbished and was spotlessly clean with comfy rooms, a huge amount of seating inside and out and pretty friendly service. Hot water was plentiful, food varied and mostly... More

Ok so the hotel is at best a 3 star, the bedrooms are small but with a nice sized bathroom, and you dont spend hours in there do you! The hotel was very clean, and our room was serviced every day, (with clean towels if you so wish), and the communal areas were comfortable and spotless. The staff were friendly... More
