Called in recently to the Stanneylands for a light meal before a holiday.. The Stanneylands has had a major refurbishment. A warm country house feel, spacious lounge, with different areas around the main bar. From bar stools and bar benches to sit at. To settees and lounge chairs set beside fireplaces, something different around every corner. Tweeds and country decor....

Lovely lunch with friends today at the newly refurbished Stanneylands hotel. It has been tastefully decorated with an open plan feel. Menu excellent choice and food delicious. Outside patio area looks lovely for a relaxed area to enjoy in the fine weather. Plenty of car parking. Will return soon to have the Sunday lunch

Only the meanest of critics could find fault with the new Bar and Grill Room at Stanneylands. The hotel has been open just six weeks since a multi-million pound refurbishment ... and evidence of that lavish spending is clear to be seen. The transformation is tasteful and superbly accomplished. The new staff are friendly and welcoming. Chefs now produce delightful...

Visited the Stanneylands last night and ate in the Pantry. The Hotel was closed for a few months at the beginning of the year and had a major overhaul. There is now an outside patio area where you can sit in a variety of areas and enjoy the pleasant view of gardens and nearby fields where horses graze. The interior...

Thought we would try Stanneylands as it has just finished a complete re-vamp. We decided to go for the 'tap & pantry' menu which was a variety of 'tasty traditional English favourites' -the food was excellent and so was the service. There is a great feel to this place, comfortable and relaxing 'it's like you could stay there all day'......

Stayed for one night when attending wedding at a local venue. We had a suite which was lovely, large king sized bed with sofa- bed also in the room. Bathroom had roll-top bath and there was a large pop- up TV at the end of the bed; unfortunately we didn't get to spend much time in the room to use...

We were staying in this hotel for a wedding close by. It was something of a curate's egg - good in parts. The positives: • The public areas have clearly been recently refurbished. Whilst the unusual style was not necessarily to my taste - artful piles of luggage, a large wooden tripod mounted brass searchlight and joke-y Victorian-esque paintings of...

The hotel has only just been refurbished and reopened so quite anxious to see the end result after a long absence. Here for a private birthday party for 30+ friends which was great fun with attentive staff looking after us very well - food sadly only ordinary and the wines were brought in privately so cannot comment on hotel lists....
