We booked Aylstone based on the reviews written on TripAdvisor, and we were certainly not disappointed. The room we had, The Venice Room, was just superb. Being able to sit out on the deck, or even on the grass outside, whilst taking in an amazing view, partaking in a lovely bottle of local wine is just the best feeling. The...

We are in Martinborough for wine tasting and what a lovely place to stay. Marian is absolutely lovely, she made us feel so welcome, we could have chatted with her for hours. The room was lovely, decorated in black and white. The bed was comfy and I got a piece of dark chocolate on my pillow each night, she won...

Had a fantastic time at the Aylstone! Beautiful property quietly nestled between vineyards yet only a stone's throw from the town centre. Great communal areas (petanque anyone?) with bright, spacious and private rooms. Fantastic bed, amazing robes and fabulous little touches everywhere (chocolates & snacks & coffee machine!). Perfect for a couples getaway and also can't beat it for a...

We selected Aylstone due to location to town and to an event we were attending, also due to its size of the property (not over populated/too many rooms). These factors were key, but the real amazement for me was how welcoming and beautiful it was. Every staff member we encountered was very nice, and the whole property was picturesque. Our...

My husband and I were at the Alystone two years ago on our honeymoon and we had really enjoyed our experience. To come back two years later and love it more was no easy feat! Thanks to Marianne and the revamp- the beds are new, the rooms are spotless and everything is conveniently laid out for you in your room....

We stayed at Aylstone for 1 night during our driving holiday (from Auckland to Christchurch). On arrival we received a warm & friendly greeting from Marian. We arrived on the day of the Martinborough Village Fair so a short walk to the village square had us in the middle of a huge country fair. Marian had recommended some places for...

We booked this place for two nights as part of a two week tour round the North Island. We stayed in mainly motels and chose Aylstone because we wanted something different. We booked in September and the booking confirmation stated 'room rate includes gourmet continental style breakfast buffet served in Aylstone private restaurant '. We thought this would be a...

Wow, what a wonderful place to stay. We had two nights at Aylstone just after a busy New Year. We couldn't have picked a better place to have rest and relaxation. Marilyn welcomed us, she was fountain of local knowledge and nothing was too much trouble. The new owners are doing a wonderful job, the rooms are lovely, complete with...
