We stayed here for 8 lovely relaxing days. The beach was great for swimming and we went snorkelling once at low tide around the rocks to a little beach on the point and saw quite a few fish. There were ample toilets, showers and plenty of bench space and sinks in the kitchen, which were kept clean and tidy,.However, the...

The park has an absolute beach frontage to a delightful swimming beach however, the facilities although quite adequate are dated. I was told that the local council owns the park and leases it to contractors thus there is little incentive for the current managers to update. Nevertheless the manager was very helpful and was able to facilitate access to the...

The setting for this campsite makes it - beachfront, surrounded by rolling green hills. Kiwi camping at its best. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were spacious and clean, the owners friendly, plus they are dog friendly in low season, which is perfect for our furry baby. Great views as you descend down to the camp from the top of the...

What an incredible place, we stumbled across this place by accident while travelling to KariKari peninsular we made a decision to pull in and rest for the night. This is a hidden gem that many locals seem to know about. Its about 1hr 30min from Bay of Islands area - but feels miles away from everything. The drive off the...

When you first arrive and look around at facilities etc, you think 'OK, not new, but will do'. Then you stay and wake up to this gorgeous setting, with this gorgeous beach right there and you start falling in love. It's a pretty awesome spot and the campers who stay for a few months in the year are just lovely!...

Eve and everyone working there are super friendly. Felt valued as a customer and loved the quiet and picturesque feel of the place. Can't wait to go back. The tourist drive towards Kaeo offers great views. Wake up early and don't be lazy like me if you want to buy bread the shop can run out fast

Phenomenal views from a very expansive campground along the beach. It was very windy when we were there so it felt rather exposed in a tent but beautiful nonetheless. There's a little store and petrol on site if you need some supplies. Kitchen in need of a good clean - fridge smelt terrible. But plenty of space to share with...

Spent Christmas / new year and had a pleasant time .. Ideal for families and people who like snorkeling fishing ,and boating.. A very picturesque area , with some beautiful bays around it too. However facilities need updating, kitchen with no freezer, only one cooker and 2 old toasters...Toilet block in need of a good scrub!! Further along the beach...

We had one week here and it was total bliss. Our cabin was right in the front next to the boat entrance to beach. Absolute scenery. The sea only a few metres away. The water is clean and refreshing. Our cabin was reasonably clean and decent. We had a table outside our door for those morning breakfast or dinner. The...

For me this is undoubtedly one of the best holiday parks in Northland and maybe even New Zealand. We camped here for several days recently and once again enjoyed this glorious spot. It’s absolute beachfront and the beach is superb. You can enjoy swimming, diving, fishing, boating, kayaking etc, and it’s a safe beach for kids. There’s a great walk...

“Ask for beachfront for commanding views.”

“Beach side is expensive and unless it's breathless, your tent will get blown away in any serious wind. The cheaper sites closer to ammenities and the Western/Northern end of the camping ground provide more shelter and it's only a 2 minute walk to the beach for those views.”
