Nice, clean room. Well worth the price. The proprietor gave good advice on local eats and when they close. It was a Sunday evening and I arrived later than the office usually stays open. She stayed until I arrived to give me the key and welcome me to the motel.
The Bay Motel has recently renovated all the rooms and they are clean and comfortable. The new owners are friendly and supportive! Will stay there again! It's not a Hilton, but in this area they are very limited choices in hotels or motels.
The new owners did an awesome job with the remodeling and renovations! Super nice and friendly, rooms look great and very clean and well kept! They put a lot of work into this hotel and it shows! So much better than it used to be years ago! Great job!
Stayed two nights. Friendly staff. Easy check in. Room was spacious and clean. Recently renovated. DirecTV with lots of stations. Everything I needed. Bargain rates. Give it a try! I will certainly visit and stay again.
Decent and relatively inexpensive motel in an area filled with pricey resorts and B&Bs. Strangely enough, I was the only patron on a Saturday night - granted the weather was abysmal with record rainfall all day long. I reserved a room on-line but noted that I wanted to check in early. When my reservation was confirmed, there was no mention of the early check in so I called. The website states a 3p check in time but when I called, the office is only open until 3p - admittedly there isn't a tremendous demand BUT if the office closes at 3p, the website should reflect this fact as well. Upon arrival, both of the owners were in the office. Check in was quick and painless - in a throwback, the rooms use a good old fashioned KEY. The owners states that they would be leaving shortly (they live on-site but likely needed to run errands). That didn't affect me much BUT the manager's name and phone number was posted in the room in case she was needed. Parking is immediately in front of the room in classic motel fashion. This made unloading nice and easy - no hunting for a luggage trolley and queuing for an elevator. The room was clean and nicely decorated. While they walls were freshly painted, they are bare cinder block walls which is actually nice because they absorb sound and make the rooms very quiet. The HVAC units are new with 4 settings - DRY, COOL, FAN and HEAT. This is the first time I've seen a DRY setting. Unfortunately the humidity was so high that neither COOL nor DRY had much effect on removing the moisture in the air since the outside temp was almost the same as the inside temp. The room was equipped with a small refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and coffee maker - almost standard fare these days. Once nice touch is that each room has an individual hot water heater which both increases response AND provides more hot water. All told - for $89/night, the Bay Motel is a great value. No, it doesn't have a pool or breakfast but it provides a clean room at a good price. If you require "fluff", be prepared to pay twice the amount and run the gauntlet to secure a room.…
