An outstanding location just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Shady and cool on a hot day -- we slept well with the air conditioner off and the windows open. Good view from front porch with dozens of hummingbirds. Very large room with stone fireplace, tiny bathroom. Old and a bit musty. Lots of unfriendly notices to guests about towels, no...

While we always hate to hear that a guest was less than happy with our inn, especially our service and breakfast, we know that the vast majority of our guests appreciate our style of innkeeping and think our breakfasts are great. Please take a minute to peruse the other reviews and we think you'll agree with us. Once again, we're...

If you love the mountains and amazing views, this is your place! No matter where you stay, there is a view of the mountains looking down into the valley, flowing creeks, and lots of nature (deer, hummingbirds galore, chipmunks, etc...). The breakfasts also kept us full between the fruit, biscuits, eggs, coffee, etc...and we usually didn't eat again until dinner....

My husband and I first stayed at Sugar Tree Inn for our 3rd wedding anniversary in September 2015. We stayed for two nights in St. Mary's Cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our spacious cabin filled with fresh mountain air, the whirlpool tub, private deck, and large sitting area. There is a TV in the room; No cable, but we enjoyed their...

My wife and I, in transit, booked in for a night and deeply regret not staying a week. Jeff and Becky, our hosts, couldn't have been easier or our accommodations more comfortable but the 19th century-style wood lodge itself and elevated location were spectacular. A charm of hummingbirds, sunset on the Blue Ridge (5 minutes off the Scenic Drive), stars...

From the room, the food, the views, the location and the Inn Keeper, Jeff, - it really was the best B & B we have ever visited; and we have lots to compare! Every detail was covered. We were there on a week night with no other guests, but were still treated with attention, yet privacy. The separate buildings and...

Had a 2 night stay here..such a peaceful place.Loved seeing the hummingbirds feeding from feeders all around the main lodge.Jeff & Becky were very hospitable and provided an excellent breakfast .Although soft drinks were provided free of charge in the main lodge . I would have liked to see a small fridge in the room,so we could put some drinks...

Excellent, abundant breakfasts. The evening meal was also delicious. The hosts were delightfully assisted by their grandchildren when we were there. Precious! Smack in the middle between Lexington and Staunton, it is easy to get to fine dining, museums, breweries, wineries.... and right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, accessible to all kinds (and difficulties) of outdoor activities. Really spectacular.

Took a solo trip on the Blue Ridge Parkway and stayed at Sugar Tree Inn on my 3rd night. A beautiful inn tucked in the woods at the north end of the parkway. A very quiet and remote stay for those looking to get away. Becky and Jeff were wonderful innkeepers, cooking dinner and breakfast to request. Limited internet and...

If you want to stay in the middle of nowhere in a comfortable inn/b&b, this is it. The hosts are quite friendly and helpful, and the breakfast they prepare is huge and delicious. Sugar Tree Inn is 1 mile off the Blue Ridge Parkway, and as quiet and peaceful as it gets. There are 4 or 5 houses, each having...

My wife and I booked here as we were travelling down the Blue Ridge Parkway and it is only a few minutes away. It is very rustic and very quiet. We were in the Rockbridge room and it was spacious with a fire place that is available in the winter. When we arrived the outside temperature was about 80F but...

We do serve dinner six days a week so I'm not sure why he said we don't. He stayed in a downstairs room so it may have been cool when he arrived even though it was 80 degrees outside, but the heat is fully functional and would have taken only a minute or two to warm it up. Most people...
