This place was a nightmare. I'm really glad we only stayed one night. The outside looked descent but the room was completely falling apart. Only one light in the front room worked. None of the lights in the bedroom worked. There was mold, broken windows, broken blinds. AND there's almost NO parking actually at the hotel. We had to park in a gravel lot that sits on the other side of a house that's next door to the hotel. Oh, and you're right beside an amusement park that goes until about midnight. The noise and lights from that made it very hard to sleep since the window shades were busted.

I did not stay the person who answered the phone was not very friendly and gave me a run around about additional cost for a dog to stay with us. Mentioned that we had to wait to arrive and get dog weighed and then could give price So I decided to stay at a much friendlier hotel that has a set fee for pets

We spent 8 hours there and barely slept! We were nearly denied the reservation due to our service dog; no towels or cups or soap in room; smelled of cigarettes and butts all over the property; noisy AC unit; door rusted and not close properly; people fighting in middle of night next door, etc. Terrible experience!

Sign says 25$ per dog. Was charged $150 for two corgis under 30 lbs for two nights. Was denied handicap accommodations and put on 3rd floor. No elevator. 3 flights outside steep stairs. Manager attitude terrible. Place is old , new flooring and bathroom fixture but paint doesn’t hide old. Fire alarm has plastic bag over it. Pool small. No closet just clothes rack . Reported for disability violation

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Woke up at 5a, turned on the light to use the bathroom and saw roaches everywhere!!! I immediately grabbed my belongings and left. Now they are giving me a hassle about a refund. DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND DON'T GO TO THIS DUMP!

My sister (Cheryl Schrader) and I had to come to Virginia Beach to take care of a few things for our sister, who had recently passed away. I believe that we were misled by a good review, along with the advertising that it had been remodeled. At this point, I do have to say that the attendant, Yogesh Patel, went above and beyond the entire time we were there. The first problem was that there are no rooms that are 'handicapped'. As Mr. Patel was checking us in, I reminded him that we had requested a handicapped room as my sister and I both struggle with mobility and would definitely need a ground floor room. Also, it was advertised to be "pet friends", and while I assured him that my dog was a medically required service dog (I had documentation), we were still charged $50.00 for having the dog! The next day, Mr. Patel came around and said that he had to collect a $5.00 'surcharge?' for each night. As for the advertised "remodeled", our room had some major problems. The baseboard was loose and pulling away from the wall. There was mold around the tub and behind the toilet. I was not surprised when I discovered a small cockroach in the bathroom. I do have pictures documenting everything I had found.

Horrible experience and horrible customer service. The rooms smelled like smoke, had blood, mold, and sunflowers seeds over everything. When we talked to the lady, she was rude from the start. Save your time and money and do not stay here

The Alamar “Resort” is a dirty dump! We checked into our room, only to find heavy pubic hair on the pillows! Upon entering the bathroom, we notice sickening, reeking turds in the cracked commode and more pubic hair on the floor and toilet seat! What went on here? Was there a dirty orgy? The front desk area reeked of curry and the owners were singing loudly in the back and ignoring the several customers in the lobby. When they finally came out they were brash and curt with all of us! This place was bad enough when owned by Ernest “Cadillac Jack” Sammons, but the new owners have turned it in to mold-ridden, bug-infested disgrace of hotel. I can’t believe this place is called a “resort!” Give me a break, this hole needs to be condemned, now once!

This motel is nasty. They obviously don't clean the rooms between guests. Thick layer of dust on everything, so much dust hanging out of ac/air vents I couldn't turn on ac or bathroom fan. Non smoking room has a strong smell of cigarettes, smoke detectors don't have batteries in them. Every dresser drawer and end table drawer was filled with garbage. Cobwebs on the ceilings. dirty floors, walls, doors stains everywhere etc. I'm usually ok with staying in an old shabby motel room but not if its disgusting because its never cleaned. You don't want to stay here

Visited in November 2019, hotel was full of bugs and extremely dirty. People at the counter were useless. The black mold is real the place should be condemned. Stayed one night ended up with a rash, immediately checked into best western the next day.
