The front desk staff couldn’t be more helpful and friendly—they are definitely the best I’ve ever had at a hotel. As for the room, it’s large and the kitchen is excellent, but the vent blasts moldy air which caused me to have several asthma attacks and I had difficulty breathing in the room. The sheets are thin and comforters very thin. The blankets are gross—incredibly dirty and old. Vending machines on even floors are easy to access with your room card, just remember to bring cash for the food machine and credit card for the drinks. Parking is two blocks away, easy to find. Take allergy meds before sleeping here though; the mold is out of control.
This was our first time at Virginia Beach. I was there with my family. The staff at the resort was friendly, polite and very helpful. There was always someone there to assist with any needs. The resort itself was very clean, kept well and very easy to get around. The pools and gym were clean and kept well. There was always someone on the pool deck cleaning up. The place is very well maintained. I would recommend this resort to any one visiting the area. Compared to other hotels along the strip, this one was definitely one of the best. There are 2 indoor and 2 outdoor pools. One indoor pool is for adults 21 and up. There's also a very nice fire pit in that area to just sit out side and chill. There is a lounge on the 10th floor for anyone. There's an indoor and outdoor area up there. Great for a gathering or party. The gym/fitness center was well maintained with a large variety of equipment. …
We came here for 5days stay and this place is nothing to boast about. Pools were cold and the “adult only pool” is closed till 6pm for consecutive days. We cant even have kids sit by the fire because even that is only for adults. So adults have to swim with the kids , what a nightmare. ALSO!!! 2 of the outdoor pools were not heated or barely heated. The other indoor looks so old and needs updating stat! Never again!!!! We were all disappointed!
After reading previous reviews I was skeptical about staying here. Unable to cancel my reservations I was forced to forge ahead. Upon arrival I was blown away as I was expecting the worst. We stayed in a one bedroom spacious beachfront suite. Newly renovated, faux wood floors. Clean throughout. Full kitchen. Comfortable bed, soft pillows, jack and jill bathroom with two showers. A stand up shower and bath tub shower combo. Pullout sofa was equipped with a new full size mattress. Note: This hotel has adjoining rooms. Parking garage is across the street, one block up - self park at a discounted fee for levels 3 and up.
The room was nice and it was clean. We had plenty of towels, pillows, toiletries etc and even had any needed kitchen items (plates, bowls, glasses, silverware, a toaster, coffeemaker etc. Really, the main drawback is that the parking garage is a bit far from the hotel and they don’t offer valet service. We had to go out one evening and it was pouring rain. My husband had to walk to the garage for the car and was soaked by the time he got it. The hotel does not offer any food (except in the restaurant during limited hours) and getting coffee in the hotel after hours is not an option so you can walk a decent distance to the nearest Starbucks or you can trek to your car just to get coffee. If you are young travelers and don’t mind the long walk or if you are planning to stay at the hotel/beach, maybe this isn’t an issue, but for us it was an issue. My husband is not well and is suffering from a Covid induced lung problem that he developed a few months ago- it would have been nice to be informed of this prior to booking our reservation. Other than this, the hotel was nice. We didn’t use the pools, but the adult only pool next to the lobby was nice and looked fun. Overall, good place. We will not stay again because of the parking situation. We are late sleepers and just wanted to enjoy a cup of coffee on our balcony when we woke up, which turned into a big production.…
Amy at the front desk was AMAZING checking in! So friendly and so engaging. I've stayed at hundred of hotels and she was one of the best I've encountered by being that genuinely nice, smiley and friendly. The property itself is very nice and so were the rooms. You have access to all the Hilton hotel amenities right next door. Whatever you need is within walking distance, great location. The parking garage is only a block away, not an issue at all. I've already booked another reservation for next month.
I was here for 10 days through Xmas and New Years. Me, mom and my little nieces had the greatest time. The girls loved the indoor pool and my mom loved the activities on the second floor. The staff was incredible. I'm sorry there were a few that I interacted with that I can't remember but I completely appreciated and loved the staff especially Joy and Lex the onesie twins at the front desk, Kelsey at the front, London who helped with our luggge a few times, Steve the GM, Jomari who brought us stuff to the room and who couldn't love Bingo with Abena. She was a ton of fun and should be a game show host. Also with her that was fun was Armani and Camila. Would stay here again. Loved it. Thanks for making home away from Christmas fun!
We had an excellent stay here. The room was clean. The soaking tub and shower looked new. Beds were comfy. The adult pool was fantastic. Parking is in a garage a block over. The check-in process was chaotic due to cars jammed up in the entrance, but other than that we had a great time at the Oceanaire.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was professional. The indoor pool and sauna were well kept and there was a fire pit lit each night . My concern is that the parking lot is a block down, turn right and another half block. I checked in at 9 pm and this is the time of the year that it is a ghost town. I expressed my concern with safety on the heels of the young adults being killed in Idaho. I was traveling alone. The rooms are small with a tiny round table.
The accommodation is in severe need of renovation. We were locked out our room on the first evening from 10.30-00.30 as the key access failed due to a faulty battery. While we appreciate things go wrong, it’s how issues are handled that’s very important. The override power unit didn’t work and at one point discussions of cutting into the wall were had but due to the time we asked that this option was left until the morning if required. Luckily a 2nd auxiliary power unit was tried and this eventually allowed maintenance to open the door and change the battery. Throughout our stay we never had hot water for a shower (at best Luke warm) and this apparently was due to a faulty boiler! Our room was on 6th floor but you couldn’t use the small balcony due to the constant noise of the air conditioning units located on the ground floor for the other building. The balcony furniture only had 1 chair and a stool! We experienced no water at the main sink in the kitchen and this required a further visit from maintenance to resolve. The staff however were very pleasant and Londan the bell boy was especially polite and helpful. Local parking was provided in a nearby (1 block away) car park. This had 1 faulty lift out of 2 during our 8 night stay. Overall it was disappointing quality for both Diamond Resorts and Hilton. We were advised that this is due for major refurbishment during early 2023. Hopefully this is undertaken if the name of Hilton is not going to be jeopardised.…
