The check in process was smooth and efficient. The staff who worked the arrival area and assisted with parking and luggage were excellent.

We stayed in a 1 bedroom oceanfront suite on the 11th floor. The room was clean and well appointed. The kitchen was very well stocked. Besides pots, pans, dishes glasses, and utensils, they provided paper towels, dish detergent, DW detergent, trash bags, etc. The suite was spacious and had the feel of a small condo. All suites only had queen beds. A king bed would have been nice. We did not use any of the amenities like the pool, fitness area, sundeck, etc. so I can't comment on them.

I read reviews about the fact that there are only 2 elevators for an 18 floor, 183 unit hotel. I can see how this would be a problem during peak season but we did not experience any long waits or crowed elevators during our off season stay.

The only negative comment I can offer has to do with the parking situation. Self parking is located 2 blocks away in a parking garage. There is no charge for this. The spaces are narrow and there are too many spaces, which makes navigating the turns difficult, especially with oncoming cars. We had to park on the 4th level most of the time. On street parking is limited to 3 hours and the cost was $2 per hour. I believe that there was valet parking available but we preferred to self park.

All in all, we felt that the value, location, and accommodations were well worth the price we paid. I would definitely recommend this resort.

Staying four nights, there are a lot of things to observe. So I'll break it down to some good and bad:

Good:

1. Friendly staff and very accommodating.

2. Great location right off the boardwalk. In addition, the outdoor pool area (shared with sister hotel Ocean Beach Resort next door) has its own outdoor shower so you can wash off the sand from the beach.

3. Good size room. We had a 1-bedroom.

4. The sun deck (10th floor) was a nice space that we didn't use.

5. Free parking (at least for us) with in and out privilege at a secure garage a block away was nice.

Bad:

1. There were only two elevators. Too few for a hotel this size. And one was out of order for part of our first day. This issue was exacerbated by Covid-19 restrictions.

2. Small things in the kitchen need upgrades such as the knives (could barely cut through our watermelon) and the coffee carafe (the glass spout was chipped).

3. The sofabed...I've only slept on one comfortable sofabed in my years of my family of four staying at hotels. This one was not it.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay. It's in a very nice part of the oceanfront and it was so convenient to walk out of the hotel and reach sand just about 40 steps away. We will definitely consider staying here again.

So I thought a quick getaway to VA Beach during the off peak season would be just the thing to refresh myself after starting a new job. I didn't think that this place would be so crowded however to my discovery upon arriving you couldn't even get into the place to check in. I had to wait like 15 mins just to pull in front of the resort and had to leave the keys in the car so valet could move it while I waited to check in. I had booked through Orbitz website they were offering a nice discount for the wind. Well upon checking in I discovered that Groupon had also offered discount rooms for $88 per night. Needless to say what I thought was going to some alone quiet time turn into pre peak season adventure. So I checked in front guest were very courteous despite my long wait and provided me a room with view to the beach which was great, even though I didn't get to enjoy it that much. In the morning I discovered broken glass on the balcony so I alerted the front desk while I was on my way out for breakfast. I returned a few hours later thinking that house keeping would have come to see about the broken glass. The glass was never removed. Also that Saturday evening upon my return, so of the guest on my floor thought it would be a good idea to lock one another out of the room with no clothes. I heard this very loud knocking on the door and peeped though my peep hole only to see an individual with no clothes on knocking on a door.
Ill definitely think twice about coming to VA Beach for a quiet quick getaway during the off peak season.

I was able to visit this property again, one of my faves, in a different capacity and things seem to be just as awesome as before.

Heaven, Nadi, and Monica at the front desk were awesome in making sure my stay was great and accommodating me with extending my stay. I saw them greet everyone that walked in and they all were super polite.

My room was awesome and super clean, the indoor pool area had no issues, and the hotel itself is still in great condition since the last I visited.
I had one minor issue with the television and they replaced the TV immediately.

Perfect location on the less busy and more upscale part of the boardwalk and definitely a place I always recommend.

have never had to right such a negative review for any establishment but, this has been the most dreadful reservation process I have ever experienced. After two days of speaking with representatives from Booking.com, the Oceanaire Resort property in Virginia Beach, VA and reservation department for Diamond Resorts I am still not reserved in the room that I am desiring, and continue to get the runaround. Based on the videos from the website for the Oceanaire Resort
, the room that I am looking to book is the 2 Bedroom Oceanfront Suite. This is the one with the big glass shower that sits in middle of the room with a separate tub that sits across the room. This, however, is misleading and in all honesty seems like false advertising because this shower can only be found in the penthouse ( per the reservation department and the front desk) which is not listed anywhere including any third-party vendor or the hotels website. There will only be 2 guests in the room, so technically we don't even need the second bedroom. What sold me on the room was that bathroom! Noone at the hotel/reservation department that I have spoken to has yet to take any accountability for such misleading information and just blames Booking.com or says that the reservation is too far out to do anything and to try calling back closer to the time of the stay. First, lets be honest, the reservation is for the weekend of Valentine's Day, how likely is it that room will be available? Also, how can the fault be placed on Booking.com when its the hotels website showing videos of a room that doesn't actually match what the room truly looks like? Come on now whatever happened to taking ownership. The worse part is that the room is nonrefundable and I am stuck with a room that doesn't meet my expectations set by the hotel. Thats hundreds of dollars wasted. To say that I am livid is an understatement and the service that I have received has been nothing shy of egregious. I have never been this unsatisfied with any hotel that I have ever stayed with and will not accept this odious customer service as the final say.

Purchased a one bedroom room w one bed for our honeymoon for 4 nights. Drove 6 hours from NY. Upon check in( which starts at 4pm) they tell us we are in a 2 bed room. I asked politely if anything can be done as I know I would never choose a 2 bed room for our honeymoon. The manager Sara and front staff did not bother to change the room and instead told us that we need to upgrade to a 1 bed room and pay additional fees. Obviously upset about this situation I decided to do a quick search online and found the same room, same nights for $150 cheaper, this would be approximately the same amount for upgrade. I asked if they can honor the price and they wouldn’t. I had enough with the horrible customer service, in reality there was no customer service. I decided to just take the room we “didn’t” reserve as I was too exhausted from the drive. Following day I asked about a later check out if possible due to us having all this trouble and checking in around 7pm, again they would not change anything(check out at 10am).
Room things:
— found gummy bears on the floor.
—bathroom tub drain shuts close, you need to hold the plug open in order to drain the water after showering.
— In order to get towels for the 21 and older pool you need to go to the different hotel kiddy pool area (through an OUTSIDE area) and check them out.
—I am beyond disappointed with the customer service, will not be coming back.Working a few years in the hotel business myself Never had this issue when it’s truly not the customers fault.

We were only at the Oceanaire for our last night in Virginia Beach but wished we had moved in earlier. We were and the 14th floor with a side balcony giving us a view of the ocean. the balcony isn't private as you can see and chat with people in other rooms, but it was fun. We even saw a pod of about 15 dolphins (from the balcony) swimming and playing. The room was spacious and the large entry tile floor was great for dropping all of our beach gear and sand. We were in a 2 Queen room. The room was comfortable and the beds were OK. The location to the beach was the best seller. You could not get closer. The Oceanaire staff was friendly and helpful. We tried to use the 10th-floor sun deck to watch the meteor shower, but the fog was too dense on the night we were there. We will definitely stay here again.

Horrible experience! Paid in full for an OceanFront 2 bdrm suite. I received 2 joined rooms with a partial OceanView rooms facing a active construction site and Sheraton. My room has no oceanfront balconies and there should be two! The front desk didn't say anything during check in. Only after I raised concern it became an issue. Guess they'd take advantage of me if I wasn't paying attention. Says a lot about the staff! Still waiting to be moved to my room? After spending a night in the worst rm in the building! What's the point of a reservation. How you disrespect someone's time and money in this manner is beyond me. I'm traveling with my family on vacation! Inconvenience is not the word. Too bad other hotels are booked! A refund and a stay where my business is appreciated sounds like a vacation. This is a NIGHTMARE @ Oceanaire!

The good:
Room was extremely spacious and clean.
The pools were well heated and the kids enjoyed them
The parking was easy enough across the street
We heard no noise from the other rooms, which is pretty amazing.
We booked it as a hotel and nobody bothered us about the timeshare stuff
The kitchen was great , well stocked and clean with a packaged sponge and dish soap so I felt like I could use it right away

The bad:
The hallways and elevator area could use an upgrade, they are a little older and musty and really give the wrong impression of the place
The towel check out thing is annoying, you have to actually go outside to access the pools and you don’t need to be dripping all up and down the hallways. And the family area or the outside need a hot tub- it was a real bummer to have not hot tub access in the winter (there is one available for 21+)
There is no conditioner or body wash in the rooms, only a bar of hand soaps, a bar of face soap and a bottle of shampoo, which was a bit odd.
I have no gripes about the ‘no housekeeping ‘ during the stay, but really wish that hotels would then put sufficient toiletries, coffee, etc for the duration of the stay

Once of the "hippest" and nicest hotels on the boardwalk. We stayed in an Oceanfront view room for 1 night. Our checkin, however, was done by someone that clearly hated her job, and only want to make sure we understood they were going to take a $300 security deposit, and that they would bill from that for ANY damage. Add a daily $27 "resort fee" for amenities, that basically, weren't really open (beyond the pool itself). We arrived late, we had church things to do Sunday night, so we got there at 8:30PM. No valet parking. It was raining. I had to park a block and half away using their parking card in a parking garage. I had to walk back in the rain. In the morning I noticed there was a parking garage valet there...not sure where they were at 8:30PM the previous night. We are local to VB, we like to support oceanfront businesses during "low" season. Again, the rooms were VERY nice, and for an entire suite, kitchen, living room, full bathroom with show AND shower/jet tub, and oceanfront view (corner room), for $200/night, it was a real deal. The service was not there...nor were the "amenities". I realize it's "off season", but nothing was really going on.

There is a parking garage one block away. It is within walking distance. Parking is free floors three and higher. Or at least it was when I stayed there.
