Do not I repeat do not go to them my family and I went to rent two room with the living room they proceeded to rent the room. I believe his name is Jeff and Chantel. We explain to them that I had five kids. They waited until we left. They called the owner and said that we had 12 people and we only had nine. They also said only four people to a room Then they decided to rent I went to pay, then they said if we pay $75 per person a day then they will rent. and they said that my kids could not be together, unless they meet outside the door this hotel is not family oriented they said and if my kids were caught in the room, then we would get put out they look for a reason to put you out before you even get in that came from Casey one of the front desk on site at the time and it’s not refundable if they put you out they also said they had a stove a oven and come to find out it didn’t work, so no stove was in the room then they proceeded to say if you have appliances, you have to hide them because they do weekly inspection and if you fail that’s automatic put out. If you get to rooms they keep $75 of your deposit. The deposit is 150 and they keep half of that, and blame it on paying housekeeping when they don’t provide housekeeping services, you have to buy your own towels the rooms did not smell good they are all over the place so keep that in mind before you book and waist your money …

We stayed on labor day weekend when a lot of hotels were booked up. While we did expect this place to be a bit more run down since it's 2 stars,we didn't expect it to be this bad. When we first arrived I noticed right away the tub was full of sand and hairs. It clearly had not been cleaned at all. Knowing the hotel was likely booked up we asked the front desk if we could just clean it ourselves or have someone come clean. They sent the maid to clean it. She was very nice. While the maid was here we noticed the door does not lock so that you can't open it from inside. Most hotels have a latch or you can lock a dead bolt. This door you could lock but it unlocks when the knob is turned. This was a huge concern because we were traveling with a toddler and our room was right by the pool. The pool is gated and not easy for a child to get into but the danger still really upset me. I ended up sliding the table in front of the door so she couldn't get out after my 2 year old opened the door several times. Next was the beds. The pull out bed was awful, we did not end up using it. The room also came with only 5 very flat pillows. We also noticed pretty quickly that floors were so dirty our feet turned black just walking back to the bedroom. You could feel the sand under your feet all over the room. I don't expect hotel floors to be spotless but the tile floors should have been pretty easy to keep decently clean. We wiped them down ourselves and it was a huge improvement for about 5 minutes of work. Now the room size was great. It has a full fridge and a decent stove. It had central air instead of those things most hotels have by the window. The tile floors were pretty and for being by the beach tile was a good choice. This hotel has a lot of potential, new furniture and a good cleaning would make it great. It just didn't feel worth the price we paid which was mostly due to it being a holiday weekend and they needed to clean better.…

There are a lot of negative reviews here, so I didn’t know what to expect during my five night stay with friends. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The pool is nice. Great location, only about 3 blocks from the beach. There are two parking lots, one at the front of the hotel and one around back. You get one parking permit per room. Would definitely stay here again. Great for a family traveling on a budget.

i stayed here last year with my family. When we entered the room the TV wasn't working and the fire alarm was broken. That got fixed quickly. other than that everything else was okay. great location and great view.

For everyone booking to this place, I urge you not to! I booked a reservation here for a family vacation and this place was a dump! There was yellow water in the fridge (urine perhaps) and food when we checked in. The place looked like a contractor spackled holes, everything was sticky and cigarette burns on couches. The chairs all had stains on them too. I had to request for another room, was better looking at 3rd time, but come to find out after settling, no lights worked in bedroom, fridge still had dirt in it and a/c was working fully since there was only one vent. Everyone you went everyone was smoking, the rooms smelled like smoke even when it says no smoking. Attempted to get a refund and they had the nerve to say that we were intoxicated upon registering and domestic dispute when leaving so that they do not need to refund my money. I ended up getting another hotel across the street and paying more because Cerca Del Mar was a dump! I WARN YOU NOW, DO NOT BOOK AT THIS PLACE AND IF YOU DO GOOD LUCK TRYING TO GET THAT REFUND.…

This is an older motel, very dated. That being said it is in very close walking distance to the beach with free parking. That alone saves you $20 a day. If you are looking for a place to lay your head with a pool, and an absolutely amazing staff. This is your place. If you are shopping by price, and expecting 5 star accommodation. Don't come here. It's an older motel. It was however clean, and comfortable, and the staff was beyond helpful with everything we asked about, and there were ten of us in two rooms.

Having stayed here in July of 2017...decided to stay again this year..July 2019. Still needs some updates,but still a good value. A few blocks back from the beach..there is a McDonald's and a Wendys nearby. Also a 7-11 as well. You cannot expect 5 star accommodations for a budget price. In my opinion if you want a clean,spacious room a short walk to the beach, give this place a try.

Excellent location 5 minutes from the boardwalk, we got there early and we got a permit to park that was a plus, but be prepared everything is outdated from the carpets to the TV, stove, & microwave no hand soap and no towels rusty microwave sink discusting I'm glad we did not plan to cook. No TV no A/C in the room only living room. We just needed a place to sleep and be close to the beach. Bring your own shampoo and bodywash extra towels other them that if you plan to spend time in the hotel I don't recommend, also be cautious of any roaches I saw one o two around.

PLEASE don't stay here!! Dirty, smelly, roaches and ceiling leaking. I am sooo upset that I wasted my money staying here. I am nervous about going to sleep here. I was also told that we'd have pots and pans in the room, no pots or pans... but a stove. Crumbs in the bed, the sheets under the fitted sheets were covered with hair and dirt. This is the hotel from hell 😣NEVER AGAIN!!

The only pro was the location. Otherwise this place is a dump and we immediately regretted booking once we stepped into the room: dirty, moldy smell, stains in bathroom, stains all over stovetop burners, bathroom door on the verge of breaking and pull out couch reeked of urine. Did not feel safe due to gaps on front door and no chain or additional lock. Rooms are far worse than the photos depict. Stay far away from Cerca Del Mar.
